A Prayer for Wisdom and Intentionality

"I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses." - Luke 16:4

"I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses." - Luke 16:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

As I approach Your throne of grace, I am reminded of the wisdom found in the words of Luke 16:4, where it is said, "I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses." Lord, I bring before You my heart, desiring to be a good steward of all that You have entrusted to me. In a world that often distracts and discourages, I seek clarity and intentionality in my actions, that I may fulfill the mission You have set before me.

Father, grant me the courage to resolve within me a clear and steadfast purpose. Just as the steward in this parable recognized the pressing urgency of his situation, help me to see the fleeting nature of time and opportunities. I do not want to squander the resources, relationships, and talents You have blessed me with. Teach me, Lord, how to plan wisely for the future. Help me to consider how my present actions will affect not only my life but also the lives of those around me and how I can be a blessing to them.

In every situation I face, remind me to seek Your will above my own and to ask for Your guidance. You tell us in Your Word that if we lack wisdom, we should ask of You who gives generously to all without finding fault. I pray for this wisdom now, Lord. Fill me with discernment that I may navigate my circumstances with grace and understanding. Let my heart be sensitive to the needs of others, especially those who may be in need of comfort or support, just as the steward sought relationships that would welcome him when he was in need.

Help me to be proactive, Lord. You have called me to be not just a passive recipient of Your grace but an active participant in Your kingdom work. Like the steward who made strategic decisions, I, too, want to prepare for the inevitable changes that life brings. May I approach my stewardship with the same level of seriousness, ensuring that every resource, every moment, every relationship is handled with care and intention.

As I strive to build connections that will support me in times of need, may I also be a source of comfort and refuge to others. Lord, remind me that my actions should reflect Your love and compassion. This life is not solely about my gain, but about sharing the hope and joy of Your kingdom with those around me. Teach me how to build bridges and foster relationships that are rooted in love and mutual support. Show me those who are in need of a friend, a listener, and a helper, and give me the heart to meet them where they are.

May my resolve be rooted in the foundation of faith and guided by Your Spirit. I seek a heart that is diligent and understanding, a spirit that is generous and kind. Help me to view my stewardship as an opportunity for service and not merely as a task or obligation. Let me be willing to invest my gifts, time, and resources in ways that honor You and uplift others.

Lord, in times of uncertainty and transition, remind me that You are my constant. Give me peace in the knowledge that even when I face challenges, You are with me—guiding, providing, and nurturing every step of the way. As I resolve my path forward, let it be saturated with love, wisdom, and a vision that aligns with Your perfect will for my life.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
