A Prayer for Abundance and Stewardship
"Storehouses also for the increase of corn, and wine, and oil; and stalls for all manner of beasts, and cotes for flocks." - 2 Chronicles 32:28

Heavenly Father,
We come before You in humble adoration, acknowledging the greatness of Your love and provision for us. In the words of 2 Chronicles 32:28 from the King James Version, we are reminded that even during challenging times, You bless Your people with storehouses filled with increase—corn, wine, and oil—that sustain us and represent not just physical nourishment but also spiritual richness. We recognize that all good things come from You, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and it fills our hearts with gratitude.
Lord, as we reflect on this verse, we ask for Your guidance in our lives so that we may recognize the abundance You have given us. We seek to trust in Your provision, ensuring that we are not dictated by the current circumstances or challenges we face. Help us to see that, like the storehouses of corn, wine, and oil, You prepare us for future needs and desires, often beyond our understanding. Instill in us a sense of hope and assurance that in Your rich mercy and grace, our every need is met according to Your glorious riches.
Father, we pray that as You fill our storehouses, we may also become willing vessels for sharing these blessings with others. Teach us the value of generosity and stewardship. Help us to cultivate our resources wisely and with a joyful spirit, knowing that they are not just for us but are intended to be shared for the growth and benefit of those around us. As it is written in Your word, ‘The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him’ (Proverbs 20:7). May we lead lives that reflect Your character and Your generosity, setting examples for our children and future generations.
We also reflect on the stalls and cotes mentioned in this verse. Lord, we are reminded of the responsibility we hold to care for the animals and beings You have entrusted to us. Grant us wisdom and compassion in our stewardship of the earth, our pets, and those in our care. Teach us to value all of creation and to honor our responsibilities as caretakers. May we always strive to protect, nurture, and sustain all that You have created, recognizing that in their flourish, we too are enriched.
Lord, as we seek His provisions, let our hearts not only desire abundance for ourselves but also the prosperity for those around us. Let our prayers include those in need—those who are struggling with hunger, poverty, and despair. We ask that You guide us to bless them not merely with material possessions but with hope, love, and support. Ignite in us a desire to stand in the gap for those less fortunate and lead us to opportunities to serve them.
We also ask for spiritual abundance, Lord. Fill our hearts with joy, peace, and understanding. Teach us to seek first the kingdom of God and understand that all these things will be added to us. May we become conduits of Your grace and love in every interaction, anchoring our hope in You alone.
As we steward our increases—be it in our homes, workplaces, or communities—may we always reflect the goodness of Your character and the abundance of Your love. Grant us strength and wisdom to manage what You have given us, to share generously with those in need, and to nurture Your creation as You designed.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
