A Prayer for Healing from the Tree of Life
"In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." - Revelation 22:2

Heavenly Father,
We come before You in awe of the grandeur and beauty of Your creation, as revealed in the glorious visions of Revelation 22:2. We are reminded of the eternal hope and restoration that awaits us, where the Tree of Life stands resplendent in the midst of the celestial city. "In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." Lord, we thank You for this promise, for the imagery that evokes both nourishment and healing, and we long for the day when we will experience it fully.
Gracious Lord, as we ponder the symbolism of the Tree of Life, we recognize it as a representation of Your abundant provision and grace. You provide not just life, but eternal life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We thank You for the cross and for the resurrection, which assures us that the tree bearing fruit each month is rooted in Your unchanging love and mercy. Help us to remember in our daily lives that we are nourished by Your Spirit, prompting us to bear fruit in our hearts that reflects Your character.
Father, in a world plagued by division and strife, we lift up our nations to You, asking for healing as indicated by the leaves of the Tree of Life. We live in a time where the wounds of disunity, prejudice, and sorrow seem to overshadow the joy of Your creation. Let the leaves of healing touch our communities, our nations, and our hearts.
Heal the broken-hearted, O Lord, and bind up our wounds. Restore hope where despair reigns; replace bitterness with love; instill peace in the hearts that are troubled. May the healing waters of Your love flow freely through our lands, washing away hatred and grudges, creating new life where there was once death. I ask that You would inspire us to be instruments of this healing, spreading love in action and serving those who are in need. Let us extend grace as freely as You have shown us grace.
As the tree of life yields twelve manner of fruits, may we reflect on the manifold blessings You have bestowed upon us. We pray for these fruits to flourish in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Let these fruits abound not only for our nourishment but for the enrichment of those around us. May we be a channel of Your love, allowing others to taste and see how good You are.
Lord, we understand from the passage that the fruit of the Tree life is not meant for a select few but is intended to bless the many – the nations. Teach us to think beyond our own needs, to reach out with compassion and generosity to those who are suffering. May we never lose sight of the larger picture of Your kingdom coming to earth, where all nations will gather in worship and unity.
We pray for our leaders, that they may seek wisdom from the Tree of Life and that Your guidance may lead them in the way of righteousness. May decisions be made that promote healing rather than division, actions taken that uplift rather than oppress, and dialogue that seeks to understand rather than incite.
Finally, we look forward with hope to the ultimate fulfillment of Revelation 22:2, when we will gather together among the trees of life—dancing in joy and celebrating Your goodness forever. Until that day, may we live in light of this promise, sharing the fruits of our salvation with joy and strength.
In Jesus’ precious name, we pray, believing in the healing power of Your love and the strength of Your promises.
Amen.
