A Prayer of Reflection and Gratitude for Our King and Priest
"Revelation 1:5-6: 5. And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6. And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." - Revelation 1:5-6

Heavenly Father,
In the solemn stillness of this moment, I come before You with a heart full of reverence and gratitude. I dwell upon the majesty of Your Word as recorded in Revelation 1:5-6, which reveals the profound truth about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ: "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood."
Oh Lord, how exquisite is Your love for us! In this age where so many seek power and recognition, we remember that our true King is Jesus, the faithful witness who stands as the eternal testament of Your love. He is the First Begotten of the Dead, who overcame the grave and gives us hope of resurrection. In light of His triumph over death, we find our faith fortified. Let us not forget to honor Him for His sacrifice—the Lamb who willingly shed His blood for our purification. O sweet Redeemer, we break before You, acknowledging the enormity of our sins and the depth of Your grace. We are cleansed and renewed through Your suffering, a gift that we could never earn, yet is freely given. Thank you, Jesus, for reaching down to wash us clean with Your own blood. This act of love transcends our understanding and compels us to live lives that reflect Your purity and righteousness.
In our mundanity, allow us to grasp the weight of our identity as You have entitled us in verse six: "And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father." Lord, how struck we are by the honor You bestow upon us—royalty in Your kingdom! You have raised us to royalty and reconciled us to the role of priests. We are now vessels of Your glory, called to serve and worship in spirit and truth. Father, instill in our hearts the seriousness of our calling. May we live each day with the assurance of being Your children, walking in the authority You have imparted upon us. Remind us that as kings and priests, we are here to magnify Your name, to wield the power of prayer, and to carry forth Your message to the lost.
Help us to exercise dominion over our personal kingdoms—our lives, our homes, our communities—in allegiance to Your divine will. Teach us to govern wisely, ruling not with oppression but with love and justice, nurturing those around us with the compassion that reflects our King.
May the world see in us the mark of Christ's witness. Let our actions echo Your love, and our words be filled with grace and truth, so others may glimpse the Kingdom of God through our lives.
Father, as we reflect on the authority we have through Jesus Christ, may we never forget to give glory and dominion unto Him. "To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." Cultivate in our souls a spirit of worship that ever sings praise to our Lord. Let our gatherings be filled with His presence, our hearts a sanctuary for His praise. Let us proclaim, loudly and with joy, the greatness of our God.
In every prayer, in every act of kindness, in every moment of obedience, may we elevate Jesus' name above every name. We recognize that He is the Prince of the Kings of the Earth, whose reign will never end. As we await His return, embolden us to be faithful witnesses, preparing the way for His coming.
In the blessed name of Jesus, we pray,
Amen.
