For it is written: 'For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.' Lord, how staggering it is to recognize the reality of deceit and discord that surrounds us! As I reflect on this verse, it speaks to the heart of my concern for myself, my loved ones, and our community as we navigate through the complexities of life.

Father, we see that those who do not walk in Your ways often conspire against those who seek to live peacefully. They plot in shadows, crafting schemes and deceptions aimed at undermining the quiet souls who desire only to dwell in harmony. I ask that You would protect us from these deceitful matters, fortifying our spirits against the plans of the wicked. May Your mighty hand shield us from their malice, and may we find refuge under the covering of Your wings.

Lord, I pray that You would grant us discernment and wisdom, allowing us to identify those who speak words that do not promote peace. Lord, as I pray for myself, I also lift up those around me who may be facing similar battles. My family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors—may Your Spirit move among us, instilling faith and courage to rise above the deception and negativity that at times can feel so overpowering. Help us draw closer to one another, fostering unity among those who long for truth and peace in their lives.

And, Lord, I ask for a special grace for those who have been victims of deceitful schemes and attacks. Many suffer quietly under the weight of slander, gossip, and betrayal. I pray that You would send Your divine comfort to heal their wounded hearts. May they find hope in knowing that You are always with them, fighting their battles and bringing justice in ways we cannot imagine.

I also recognize that if I am to be a vessel of peace, I must first allow Your peace to dwell richly within me. So, I invite You into my heart, Lord—help me to reflect the kindness and love of Christ in all my dealings. May I be a beacon of Your light to the world around me, inviting others to experience the peace that comes from knowing You. Enable me to speak words that uplift and heal rather than tear down.
