A Prayer for Life and Goodness
"What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?" - Psalms 34:12

O Lord, God of all creation, I come before Thee with a humble heart, guided by the wisdom found in Thy holy word. In the grand tapestry of life, as inscribed in Psalms 34:12,
"What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?" I open my spirit to reflect upon these profound questions. I desire life, dear God, not just for the sake of existing, but to live abundantly in the richness of Your grace and favor.
First, I express my gratitude for the gift of life itself. Each breath I take is a reminder of Thy boundless love and mercy. As I ponder the meaning of life, I ask for the courage to follow the path that leads to life sustained by Your light. May I embrace every moment, cherishing the days you have set before me, as opportunities never to be taken for granted.
Teach me, Lord, to foster a deep love for my days—each one a page in the story of my existence. May I not just count my years but make my years count, finding joy in the simple pleasures and acknowledging the highs and lows as part of Thy divine plan. Help me to cultivate a heart that longs to see good and to recognize that every day holds the potential for goodness—even amidst adversity.
I pray for the wisdom to navigate through the storms of life. Grant me clarity of vision to see Your hand at work in the midst of trials. Keep my focus on You, Lord, so that I may respond with patience and grace rather than discontent and despair. When life appears daunting, remind me of Your promises—that You are with me always, and that even in the thick of challenges, I can seek goodness if my heart aligns with Yours.
It is my deepest desire to not only seek good for myself but to spread goodness wherever I go. Let my actions be reflective of Your love and kindness; let my words uplift and encourage rather than bring harm. Lord, mold me into an instrument of peace. I ask that You fill me with compassion for those around me who are struggling, so that I may be a source of support and joy in their lives.
As I look to the future, I affirm my commitment to live intentionally, pursuing that which is good and pleasing in Your sight. I ask for Your guidance to discern what truly leads to a fulfilling life, aligning my desires with Your will.
May I seek companionship with those who also desire to live under Your light, engaging with a community that uplifts one another towards Your goodness. Surround me with believers who challenge and inspire me to stay on the path that leads to life, and give me the strength to persevere in my faith. Surround us in unity, Lord, as we strive together towards our common goal of experiencing and manifesting goodness in our lives.
Father, I lift before You all of my concerns and fears, asking that You wash them away with Your everlasting love. Help me to trust in You fully, knowing that every day I wake is a gift, a precious chance to witness Your beauty and grace. I stand in awe of the miracles You perform in my life daily—even in the mundane. Open my eyes to see the good in every situation and in every person I encounter, to be grateful for the journey You have set before me.
In all things, I praise You, Lord. My heart celebrates the life You’ve given me, with all its ups and downs. I will choose to dwell on Your goodness, for I know that You are faithful to Your promises. May my days be filled with love, joy, and purpose as I seek to embrace the life You have designed for me, where I may see good each day.
With gratitude and love, I pray in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
