A Prayer for the Virtuous Woman
"¶ Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." - Proverbs 31:10

O Lord Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, we approach Your throne of grace with deep reverence and gratitude in our hearts. We acknowledge You as our Heavenly Father and the source of all wisdom. In all our pursuits, may we be led by the true light of Your word. We turn our hearts toward the wisdom found in Proverbs 31:10, which asks, "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."
Father, I have come to understand that the virtuous woman described in Your Word is not merely a figure of great worth but a representation of those who embody godliness, strength, and unwavering faith. I pray that You help us recognize the true value of virtue in a world that often fails to appreciate it.
Lord, we ask for Your divine assistance in our search for virtues—both in ourselves and in those we hold dear. Help us cultivate the characteristics that make us virtuous: integrity, kindness, diligence, and love. May our hearts be molded to reflect righteousness and may our actions demonstrate Your grace. Let us be women and men who seek after the treasures that cannot be counted in gold or silver, but in the eternal inheritance that is found in You.
As we ponder the question, "Who can find a virtuous woman?", may we remember that it begins with the seekers. Help us to be worthy seekers, guided by Your Spirit. Grant us discerning hearts that appreciate virtue over vanity, and wisdom that values the internal beauty far above the external allure. Teach us to look beyond the worldly definition of success and find fulfillment in character and devotion.
Lord, we lift up the women in our lives—our mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends. May they be strengthened in their pursuit of virtue. Remind them of their intrinsic worth, that they are priceless, valued far above rubies. Surround them with Your protection and peace as they navigate the trials of life. Instill in them a sense of purpose, guided by Your love and truth. Let each woman understand that her virtuous character is a testimony of Your grace working within her.
Help us to support and uplift these women, acknowledging their struggles and celebrating their victories. Let our words be encouraging and our actions reflective of the love You have shown us. May we be friends and partners who honor one another, recognizing each other’s gifts and contributions with respect and gratitude.
Further, guide the men in our lives to appreciate and honor the virtuous women, to recognize their worth, and to safeguard their value in our society. Let them understand that a virtuous woman brings strength to her family, community, and to the world.
We pray that we can all strive toward righteousness and good character, fostering relationships based on mutual respect and understanding. May our families be built upon the foundations of virtuous women and men, where love, support, and faithfulness abound.
Lord, help us all to remember that though virtue may be hard to find, we can uplift each other and cultivate a community that glorifies You through our adherence to Your statues. May we embody the virtue that Proverbs 31 speaks of, touching the lives of others and lighting the way toward Your truth.
In Jesus' name, who is the epitome of virtue and righteousness, we pray. Amen.

Proverbs 31:10-31 - "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates."
