Heavenly Father,

As we approach Your throne of grace today, we come with hearts full of reverence and a desire for righteousness, as we consider the profound wisdom found in Proverbs 29:4: "The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it." Oh Lord, we acknowledge that it is You who establishes authority and governance, and it is through Your divine wisdom that justice is upheld. We pray for our leaders—those in positions of power and responsibility, that they may embody the principles of integrity and justice that You desire for us all.

Father, we lift up to You our nation and every ruler or legislator who holds the weight of their people's future. We ask that You impart upon them a spirit of discernment and clarity. Let them be reminded always that their judgment and actions have the power to build up or tear down societies. May our leaders seek Your wisdom above all else, governing not with a desire for personal gain, but with the utmost impartiality and fairness. Help them to recognize that true leadership is not about receiving gifts or favors but about serving the people with justice, compassion, and a commitment to the common good.

Lord, we acknowledge the temptation that comes with power. We realize how easily one can be swayed by the allure of gifts and enticements—whether they be monetary, political, or social. We ask You to guard the hearts of those in authority against corruption and unethical behaviors that could lead to the decay of justice. Remind them that real wealth lies not in material possessions or accolades but in the respect and trust of the people they serve.
