Almighty and Gracious God,

We come before Thee with hearts full of gratitude and reverence for the boundless love and wisdom that Thou dost bestow upon us. As we gather in this moment of prayer, we reflect on Thy sacred word from Proverbs 11:26, which states, "He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.”

Lord, we understand that this verse speaks to the heart of generosity and the profound impact that our actions have on others. We acknowledge that all that we possess—our talents, our resources, our time—are gifts from Thee, and in this understanding, we pray for the strength and courage to share what we have with those in need. Help us to remember that as we withhold what we can share, we not only deny others the sustenance they require, but we also bring upon ourselves a curse of discord and distress. Convict our hearts, dear Lord, that we may never be among those who grasp tightly to their possessions, forgetting the greater good of our community and the overarching principle of love that Thou hast called us to live by.

Father, instill in us a spirit of generosity that reflects Thy character. May we not just seek our own comfort but actively look for opportunities to lend a helping hand or to offer our resources to those who are struggling. Help us see that when we are aware of the needs of others and respond with compassion, we are mirroring Thy grace and mercy. Shine Thy light in our hearts, Lord, that we might become more attuned to the needs of the less fortunate around us. Let us not be like the man who hoards his corn, allowing selfishness to rob us of the blessings of community and fellowship. Empower us, instead, to share willingly, knowing that true fulfillment comes not from our abundance but from the joy of giving.

As we reflect on Thy word, let us remember the way that Thou dost provide for all creation. In the fields and gardens, Thou hast made abundant provision for us, and just as Thou art generous with Thy blessings, teach us to follow in Thy footsteps. When we open our hearts and hands, we become vessels of Thy grace, pouring out love and kindness, and in return, we find ourselves blessed in ways we cannot measure.

We pray particularly for those whom Thou has called us to serve—those who are hungry, those without shelter, and those who feel forgotten. May we be reminded that our blessings are not solely for our consumption but are intended to be shared in act and in spirit. Inspire us, O Lord, with the courage to reach out to those whom society has overlooked and to bring hope to the hopeless. Let us not turn a blind eye or a deaf ear to their cries for help. Instead, may our hearts burn with a passionate desire to serve, knowing that by doing so, we serve Thee.

In our actions, both small and great, let us experience the manifold blessings of obedience. Let not our lives be marked by greed or selfishness; rather, let them bear the fruit of generosity and love. When blessings come upon the head of those who sell corn bountifully, let our lives reflect the harvest—an abundance of relationships strengthened by love, a community enriched by acts of kindness, and a world transformed by our efforts.

As we conclude this prayer, we surrender our hearts to Thee, O Lord. May we emerge from this moment of reflection, committed to living our lives in accordance with the heavenly principles of generosity, thus fulfilling Thy desire that we bless others through our actions. We know Thy will is for us to be a conduit of Thy blessings. May we henceforth boldly proclaim, through our deeds, the great truth found in Thy word.
