A Prayer for Courage and Faith in Our Inheritance
"We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Jordan may be our's." - Numbers 32:32

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with hearts filled with gratitude and determination, inspired by Your Word in Numbers 32:32, which proclaims: "We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Jordan may be ours." Father, this verse calls us to action, to take courage and step confidently into the promises You have set before us.
Lord, we acknowledge that we are on a journey, much like the children of Israel, standing at the banks of our own Jordans. There are fears, doubts, and obstacles that try to hinder our progress, making us shrink back from the inheritance You have prepared for us. But today, I pray that You fill us with unwavering faith, just as those brave warriors who marched forth into the Promised Land.
As we pass over, armed with Your Word and filled with Your Spirit, let us not forget that we do so before You, O Lord. Your presence is our shield, our stronghold, and our guide. We ask that You equip us with the armor of God, as outlined in Ephesians 6:10-18. Dress us in truth, put the breastplate of righteousness on our hearts, and shod our feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. May we take up the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, ready to battle against the spiritual forces that seek to steal our inheritance.
Lord, as we move forward, I pray for the strength to remain steadfast in our commitment. Life can present challenges—illness, disappointment, or betrayal—but remind us, Father, that the gain of the inheritance far exceeds our present troubles. Teach us to see beyond the natural, to the supernatural promises You have made. Your word tells us that all things work together for good to those who love You, and we stand on this truth today.
Yet, God, we also recognize that this journey might not come without sacrifice. The people of Reuben and Gad were willing to fight for their brethren in a land they did not physically inhabit. Grant us the grace to adopt such an attitude as we strive not only for our own inheritance but also for the well-being and inheritance of others. Help us to be a community of warriors who come together, standing arm in arm, each armed with our faith, to claim the kingdom You have promised us.
Lord, give us clear eyes to see the territory before us. As the land of Canaan was flowing with milk and honey, so too may our lives be abundant in blessings as we claim victory. Let us not be deterred by the giants that inhabit the land or the fortified cities that loom large before us. Remind us that You have already gone before us and have promised victory over our adversaries.
May we always remember that the highlight of this journey is our relationship with You, our Commander and Chief. May our hearts be touched by the reality of Your covenant, that our struggles are not in vain. With every step we take into our inheritance, remind us of the great cloud of witnesses cheering us on, encouraging us to run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Father, as we press on, fill us with a spirit of hope, love, and power. And may our declaration be firm; we will claim what is rightfully ours. We will not be shy; we will not shrink back. We will pass over armed before the LORD, boldly entering into the abundant life You have for us. In Jesus' name, we claim victory, guidance, and strength. Amen.
