Heavenly Father,

I reflect on Your word in Matthew 6:18: "That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly." Father, I ask for the strength to fast not for the eyes of men, but as an intimate offering to You. Let my fast be a true reflection of my yearning for closeness with You rather than a spectacle to gain admiration or recognition from others. Let each moment of hunger or discomfort serve as a reminder of my need for You, driving me to prayer and meditation on Your word. Help me, Lord, to cultivate a secret space where I meet You daily. May I find joy in those quiet moments, experiencing the warmth of Your presence as I turn to You both in my good times and in my struggles. For in those secret places, beautiful transformations occur within my heart and mind. Teach me to find the divine rhythm of seeking You first above all things, and in that pursuit, may I experience the true rewards that come from a Father who sees all things in secret.

I trust in Your promise that You shall reward those who faithfully seek You. I long for those heavenly rewards—not in material forms or worldly accolades but in the richness of Your love, peace, and joy that surpasses understanding. I envision the fruit of my fast not as accolades but as a deeper relationship with You, a heightening of my sensitivity to Your presence in my everyday life.
