When the Heavens Opened: A Prayer in Light of Matthew 3:16

Lord Jesus, we fix our eyes upon Thee as the beloved Son who stepped into the waters and rose in obedience. Teach us to walk in Thy footsteps. Let our lives proclaim that we belong to Thee. Shape in us a faith that is not merely private, but faithful; not merely emotional, but enduring; not merely momentary, but lifelong.
Father, let the reality of Matthew 3:16 abide in our souls: obedience that pleases Thee, heavens opened by Thy power, and the Spirit of God resting upon Thy Son. Make our hearts a dwelling place for Thy presence. Make our lives a testimony that points others to Christ. And when we face seasons that feel silent or closed, remind us that Thou art still Lord of heaven and earth, still opening what no man can shut, still sending Thy Spirit to sustain and sanctify.
