Commissioned for Kingdom Work
"Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." - Matthew 28:16-20

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in humble adoration and gratitude, recognizing the greatness of Your name and the authority that You have given to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As we reflect on the words recorded in Matthew 28:16-20, we are filled with reverence for the moment when the eleven disciples met You on that appointed mountain in Galilee. Lord, their journey to that mountain signifies their obedience and willingness to be in Your presence, and we too seek to draw near to You with hearts that are open and worthy of Your love.
Lord, we acknowledge the significance of the worship offered by the disciples upon seeing You again. Just as they worshipped You, we bow before You today, recognizing the majesty of who You are. In the midst of their worship, we see that some doubted. We are reminded that even those closest to You faced uncertainty. We now bring all our doubts and uncertainties before You, asking for the strength to believe fully in Your power and promises. Help us to cast aside our worries and trust wholeheartedly in the great commission You have bestowed upon us.
Jesus, we thank You for the assurance that "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." What a mighty proclamation! In this truth, we find our strength and courage to go forth into the world. Help us to remember that because You hold all power, we are not sent out as orphans, but as appointed ambassadors of Your kingdom. May we operate under the authority that You have established, proclaiming Your Gospel to every nation, tribe, and tongue.
As we reflect upon Your command, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost," we ask that You ignite a passionate fire within us to spread Your message of love and salvation. We pray that our lives may reflect the transformative power of Your grace. Guide us, dear Lord, to discern and embrace our unique calling to spread the Good News in our communities, workplaces, and indeed unto the ends of the earth. Provide us with the wisdom to teach others to observe all that You have commanded us, so they may also learn to walk in righteousness and holiness, seeking always to embody Your love.
Teach us to connect with those who are lost, the brokenhearted, and the weary. May the love You poured into our hearts overflow into the lives of others. Grant us the courage to reach beyond our comfort zones and to build relationships that glorify You. Let our words be laced with kindness and truth as we interact with those around us.
Lord, we hold dearly to Your promise, "lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." As we engage in this sacred work, let us remember that we are not alone. You walk with us through every challenge, every triumph, and every moment of doubt. May Your presence be our comfort, our guide, and our strength. Sustain us, Father, as we strive to fulfill the Great Commission with diligence and sincerity. Empower us by Your Holy Spirit to overcome any obstacles that may come our way, for we know that with You, nothing is impossible.
In this prayer, we declare our commitment to carry forth Your message. We yield our lives for Your service, trusting wholeheartedly in Your plan. Help us to remain unified as Your body, the church, laboring together for the sake of the Gospel, drawing strength from our mutual faith.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who with You and the Holy Spirit reigns forever. Amen.
