A Prayer of Abundance and Gratitude
"And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes." - Matthew 15:34

Heavenly Father,
As I kneel before You today, I am filled with gratitude for the abundance that Your love and provision bring into my life. I reflect upon the words of Your Son, Jesus Christ, as recorded in Matthew 15:34, "And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes." This scripture reminds me of the incredible ways in which You transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, and how Your power knows no bounds, even when our resources seem limited.
Lord, I come to You with a heart open to receiving Your wisdom and guidance. I acknowledge that, like the disciples who gathered around Jesus that day, I often find myself questioning my ability to make a difference in this world with the little I possess. I may have only a few loaves and fishes—my limited talents, my inadequate resources, or my wavering faith. Yet, I am reminded that it is not the quantity of my offerings but the quality of my heart that You seek.
Help me, O Lord, to understand that every contribution, no matter how small, is significant in Your kingdom. Just as those seven loaves and a few fishes fed thousands, I trust that You can take the little I offer and multiply it beyond my imagination. I pray that You would open my eyes to see the potential in my gifts, however humble they may seem. May I realize that it is not for me to determine the impact of my actions, but to faithfully present what I have into Your hands.
Father, teach me the importance of sharing. In a world that often encourages hoarding and self-preservation, instill in me a spirit of generosity. Let my heart overflow with compassion for those around me who may be in need, just as Jesus fed the multitude with the meager provisions available. When I encounter someone hungry—whether for food, love, or encouragement—let me not hesitate to share what I have, so that they might also experience Your goodness and grace.
I also pray for a deeper faith, Lord. Help me to trust in Your faithfulness, even when circumstances seem bleak or resources feel slim. Instill in me the courage to step out in faith and to offer those seven loaves and a few fish, believing that You can multiply my efforts to meet the needs of others. Help me remember that with You, little is much, and You delight in using the weak things of this world to confound the wise.
As I reflect on the miracle of the loaves and fishes, I am reminded that it is not only about the physical feeding of those who were hungry but also about the spiritual nourishment You provide. I ask, Lord, that You would help me not only to feed the hungry but to share the Bread of Life with those around me. May I have the boldness to proclaim the Gospel, to share the love of Christ, and to be a vessel for Your grace in a world desperately in need of hope.
In the midst of trials and uncertainties, I will trust in Your promise of provision. I will remember that You are able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that I ask or think. I lay my life before You, Lord, asking You to take my offerings, to bless them, and to use them according to Your divine will.
Thank You, Father, for Your unwavering love and the gift of Your Son. I submit my heart to You, grateful for the assurance that with You, I will never be in lack. May my life be a testimony of Your provision and a reflection of Your generous spirit.
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
