O Sovereign Lord, Creator of heaven and earth, I approach Thy throne of grace with a humble heart, inspired by the words of our Lord in Matthew 10:17-20. I bring before You the solemn reminder of the challenges and trials that faith often entails. As the verses state, "But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles," I wholeheartedly recognize the weight of these warnings and the reality of persecution that many face for the sake of Your name.

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge the fear and anxiety that can arise when confronted with hostility or disdain from the world around me. There are moments when being a follower of Christ may make me a target, and I seek refuge in the promise that You have given: that even in such trials, there is purpose and divine appointment in my suffering. Please fill my heart with courage and remind me that every trial is an opportunity to testify to Your goodness, even amid adversity.

Lord, I pray for those who are being persecuted today, just as Christ foretold. I remember the ones who are being brought before councils, those who are scourged in synagogues, and the brave souls facing governors and kings. Grant them strength and cover them with Your divine presence. Let them feel the assurance that their witness for You will not be in vain but will serve as a testament to Your glory and grace among all people. Allow their faith to shine brightly even in the darkest of times.

In Your Word, it is written: "But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak." Oh, Lord, what a promise You give us in that assurance! Help me to trust in the guidance of Your Holy Spirit when I am faced with trials or when others challenge my beliefs. Teach me to set aside my fears and concerns about what I will say or how I will respond.

Holy Spirit, I invite You into my heart, seeking Your counsel and wisdom. Empower me to speak when called upon, through the divine prompting You provide. May the words that come from my mouth be rooted in love, truth, and compassion. May they reflect the heart of the Father and be effective in bringing light to those who are lost and wandering in the darkness. I surrender my thoughts and my impatience to You, believing that You will provide the precise words needed during those critical moments of witness.

Finally, Lord, I reflect on the conclusion of the passage, "For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you." What a freeing revelation! I ask that I may be a vessel for Your Spirit to work through, not only in difficult situations but in every aspect of my life. Help me cultivate a spirit of dependency on You so that in all my interactions, whether in joy or in sorrow, whether in celebration or in persecution, Your Spirit may speak through me.

I thank You, loving Father, for the promise of Your presence with me in every circumstance. May I never forget that I am never alone in my witness or my suffering. Let my responses to challenge be a reflection of Your grace, drawing others closer to You. May every hardship become a platform for Your glory and may I, through the trials I face, emerge as an ambassador for Christ, rooted in truth and surrounded by love.
