A Prayer for Healing and Deliverance
"And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;" - Mark 9:17

Heavenly Father, Lord of all compassion and mercy, I come before you today in deep humility and reverence, acknowledging Your everlasting strength and love. As I reflect on the words of Mark 9:17, where a father cried out for help, I too approach Your throne of grace with a heart full of desperation, seeking your divine power to move in my life and in the lives of those I love.
"And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit." Here, O Lord, I hear the anguish of a father, the cries of a parent longing for relief and healing for their child. I lift before You those I know who are struggling with burdens that seem too heavy to bear, especially our children who face spiritual, emotional, and physical struggles. Just as this father knew of Your power and brought his son before You, I, too, recognize that You are the ultimate healer and deliverer.
Dear God, I pray for the children among us who are afflicted, those who may be tormented by spirits of despair, confusion, or fear; may Your loving arms embrace them with solace. I ask for Your healing touch to permeate their lives. Shine Your light into the darkness they contend with. Help them to find peace where there was once turmoil, and give them the courage to awake from the shadows of their pain.
Father, I pray for the parents who stand with heavy hearts, who bring their children before You in prayer, in fasting, and in faith. Lord, grant them strength in their despair. Remind them of Your unfailing love and the promises that You hold in Your Word. Give them wisdom as they navigate the complexities of counseling, guidance, and support for their children. May they feel your presence during the long nights of worry and days filled with unanswered questions.
Lord, just as the man in Mark 9:17 sought after You, we too are inspired to seek You diligently for You are our Comforter and our Advocate. I bring before You, O precious Savior, any spirit that hinders our loved ones from truly knowing You. In the name of Jesus, I command every dumb spirit to flee, to leave them and never return. Deliver them from the shackles of silence, anxiety, and despair that hold them captive. May their voices rise in praise and worship, declaring Your greatness.
God, Your Word teaches us that all things are possible for them who believe. Help us, Lord, in our moments of doubt, strengthen our faith. Increase our belief so that we may boldly declare healing over our children and those we care for. May miracles flow forth from our prayers as we stand in agreement with Your will. Just as You restored the son in the Gospel, I have faith that You will also restore our beloved ones; I trust in Your timing and Your wisdom.
Holy Spirit, move through our hearts and our gatherings. Stir within us a community that seeks to support one another in times of struggle, a family of believers who uplift and bear one another’s burdens. May we have eyes to see those in need and hands ready to serve. Let us always be a stronghold for each other as we go through life’s trials.
Finally, Lord, I thank You for Your promises of restoration and healing. May we always remember the power of intercession, as demonstrated by the father who sought You for his child. Help us not to grow weary in prayer but to persist, trusting that You are working things together for good, even when we cannot see the full picture. We place all our worries, fears, and hopes before You, knowing that with You, all is possible.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
