Father, I ask for Your guidance in every celebration I partake in. Instill in me a desire not for grandeur and superiority, but for the deeper bonds that reflect Your light and grace. God of Wisdom, grant me discernment to see the fleeting nature of worldly accolades. Just as Herod surrounded himself with high captains and chief estates, let me be mindful of who I surround myself with and the influences they have on my spirit. Let my companions be those who uplift and inspire me towards righteousness, rather than those who may lead me into the snares of vanity and pride.

As we engage in life's 'convenient days,' help me to be aware of the motives behind actions and gatherings. Even in moments of joy, may I remain vigilant, guarding my heart against temptation. For I know, Father, that it is easy to lose sight of You amidst the celebrations of life. Teach me to invite You into every occasion, to speak of Your goodness, and to revel in the joy that comes from knowing You.

Lord, I also think of those who, like Herod, may use their celebrations for darker purposes. I pray for protection for those who find themselves in situations where joy is overshadowed by fear or manipulation. May Your hand shield them from harm and Your love envelop them in times of distress. Encourage them to seek solace in You, rather than in the momentary pleasures the world offers.

Let every supper, every gathering I hold be framed with gratitude for the gift of life and the community around me. Help us to remember those who are less fortunate, to make room at our tables for the lonely, and to share the abundance that You have poured into our lives. May my celebrations reflect Your love, fostering unity and healing rather than division and discord.

In times of abundance, let us not forget the source of our blessings. As we raise our glasses and celebrate the moments we cherish, may we also raise our voices in praise to You, acknowledging that every good gift comes from above.
