The Assurance of His Presence
"Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." - Luke 24:39

Heavenly Father,
In the quietness of this moment, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and awe. I reflect on the words spoken by our Lord, as recorded in Luke 24:39, "Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." O Lord, how profound these words are! They not only reveal Your love and compassion towards us but also offer us the assurance of Your tangible presence and reality amidst our doubts and uncertainties.
Gracious Father, I thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who humbled Himself and took on human form. In His incarnation, we see the ultimate expression of Your desire to reconnect with us, to walk among us, and to share in our sufferings and joys. Thank You, Lord, for the hands that were marred for our transgressions, and for the feet that walked the path of suffering, leading to the cross. In His wounds, we find our healing; in His scars, the testimonies of Your unfailing grace.
As I ponder on this scripture, I am reminded of the disciples who, in their despair and disbelief, needed tangible proof of the risen Christ. It is a reflection of our human nature, Lord, how we sometimes struggle to believe in what we cannot see, to trust in what seems impossible. Yet in that moment in the upper room, You offered the disciples a personal encounter with Your resurrected body. You invited them to handle You, to see You, to believe that the beyond-the-grave victory was not just an idea, but a glorious reality.
I pray, Lord, for those times when my faith wavers, and when circumstances cloud my vision of Your presence. When I grapple with fear and uncertainty, help me to hear Your gentle invitation to behold Your hands and feet. May my heart be open to recognizing You in the midst of my struggles, revealing Yourself not as a distant deity, but as a close friend who understands my plight. Reinforce in me the knowledge that You are here, embodied and alive in my life, offering comfort in the storms.
Lord, I ask that You would grant me the grace to approach You with a boldness to embrace the truth of Your resurrection. Help me to handle the reality of Your presence as I navigate through trials and tribulations. You are not a spirit, but a living Savior promising to be with me until the end of the age. In every challenge I face, remind me that I am never alone; Your flesh and bones are a testament to Your commitment to stand with me.
I also pray for those around me who may be experiencing similar doubts or crises of faith. May I be a vessel of encouragement, sharing the powerful testimony of Your resurrection. Let my life be a beacon that points others to the truth that You are real, and that You invite them to engage with You personally. Give me the right words to help others behold Your hands and feet through the love, grace, and mercy that I extend towards them.
Thank You, Father, for the assurance that You are alive and present in our lives. Thank You for the promise that, just as You revealed Yourself in bodily form, You also reside in our hearts through Your Spirit. May I always remain conscious of Your presence, experiencing the love that surpasses understanding and peace that guards my heart and mind.
In the name of Jesus, my risen Lord, I pray. Amen.
