O Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in reverence and awe, deeply moved by the profound truths revealed in Your Word, particularly in Luke 24:22. "Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre." This passage speaks so powerfully to the heart of our faith, illuminating the incredible role that women played in the resurrection story.

Lord, as we reflect upon this verse, we are reminded of the women who rose early, who sought You at the tomb, driven by love and devotion. They were the first witnesses to the miracle of resurrection, and their astonishment is a testament to the extraordinary work You do in our lives. Help us to internalize the spirit of these women – their courage, their faith, and their zeal. May we, like them, pursue You with urgency in our hearts and determination in our souls.

We recognize, O God, that You often reveal Yourself in the unexpected. The astonishment of those women as they approached the sepulchre teaches us that we should be open to Your sovereign work in our lives and in the world around us. So often, we limit our expectations, confined by our understanding of what is possible. Yet, in doing so, we fail to see the magnificent splendor of Your resurrection power.

Lord, help us to embrace astonishment as a holy response to the mysteries of faith. May we be open to the surprises You have in store for us, for we know that You are a God who does not confine Yourself to our expectations. Just as the women found the tomb empty, may we find our hearts and our spirits refreshed and transformed through the revelation of Your truth.

As we seek You each day, remind us that, like those early morning seekers, our journey may sometimes lead us through shadows and uncertainties. Yet, amid those times, grant us the grace to trust in Your divine purpose. Teach us to look for You not just in grand displays but also in the quiet corners of our lives where You whisper, where You move among us.

Father, we pray for those who feel distant from You, for those who may be struggling with doubt or fear. Let them discover the empty tomb of their own despair and bewilderment, a place where Your light can break through and bring healing, hope, and renewal. May they be astonished anew by Your presence and the truth of the gospel.

We ask that You kindle a spirit of boldness and faith within us, allowing us to be the messengers of Your resurrection. Just as these women shared the good news with the disciples, so too may we declare Your glory among the nations. Give us the words, the courage, and the opportunities to spread the good news of Your love, grace, and mercy.

We also lift up all women who play a crucial role in our faith communities, those who bear burdens and responsibilities oftentimes unseen. May their contributions be acknowledged, valued, and celebrated. Let their faith inspire us; let their devotion encourage us to seek You more fervently.

Finally, Lord, fill our hearts with wonder and joy as we contemplate the mystery of the resurrection. May our lives radiate the light of Christ, and may we always carry a spirit of astonishment that reflects Our Savior’s astonishing love for us. Help us to encourage others to seek You with the same excitement and anticipation that those women displayed that first Easter morning.
