A Prayer for Focus and Peace amidst the Busyness of Life
"Sure! Here is the King James Version of Luke 10:41-42: And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her." - Luke 10:41-42

Heavenly Father,
I come before You in humility and reverence, seeking Your divine guidance and the peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, as I reflect on the words of Your Son, Jesus, in Luke 10:41-42, I hear His gentle yet firm reminder to Martha: "Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."
Father, how often I find myself like Martha; consumed with the cares of life and overwhelmed by the demands of daily activities. I confess that I sometimes prioritize duties over relationships, responsibilities over personal reflection, and busyness over Your presence. Forgive me, Lord, for the times I have lost sight of what truly matters—the richness of my relationship with You and the peace that comes from focusing on the things of the Spirit.
In this world brimming with distractions, help me to discern the essential from the superfluous. Teach me, Lord, to embrace stillness and to cultivate a spirit of peace amidst the chaos. Just as Mary chose to sit at Your feet, listening to Your teachings, grant me the wisdom and the desire to make time for You in my daily life. Let the noise of the world fade away as I seek to focus on Your Word and commune with You in prayer.
Lord, I recognize that surrendering my to-do list and the constant chatter in my mind is not easy. I ask for Your strength and guidance. Help me to develop an attitude of humility that values time spent with You above the accolades of productivity. May I remember that every moment I spend in Your presence feeds my spirit and equips me to face the challenges of the day.
Father God, instill in me a desire to meditate on the Scriptures, to reflect on Your character, and to rejoice in Your goodness. May Your Word be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105). Let Your truths wash over me and transform my heart. Help me find that “one thing” which is truly needful—a deep and abiding relationship with You.
I pray for balance in my life. Help me to execute my responsibilities with grace and love while keeping my heart anchored in You. Teach me to serve those around me, not as a source of anxiety but as an expression of Your love. In this pursuit of service, may I not lose sight of the joy that comes from being present with family, friends, and ultimately with You.
I also lift up others who may be struggling with being burdened or weary. In times of trouble and unrest, let Your Spirit be their comforter. May they, too, find that good part that cannot be taken away—the sweet assurance of Your presence in their lives. Protect our minds from worry and teach us to lean on Your everlasting arms.
As I continue this journey of faith, I ask You, Lord, to mold my heart, to make it sensitive to Your promptings. May I recognize the moments when I am becoming distracted by worldly cares, and may I swiftly return to Your embrace, choosing the
