A Prayer of Total Love and Commitment
"And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself." - Luke 10:27

O Sovereign Lord,
As I come before You in humble reverence, I reflect upon the profound words of Your Son as recorded in the Holy Scriptures. In Luke 10:27, He speaks the essence of our faith when He says, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself." I kneel before You, Lord, to embrace this divine call to love wholeheartedly.
I seek to love You, O God, with all my heart. Help me, Lord, to guard my heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Let not anything of this world—doubt, fear, pride, or selfish desire—draw my heart away from You. Let Your love saturate every corner of my heart, transforming it into a sanctuary where Your Spirit dwells. May my affections mirror the purity and depth of Your love for me.
Strengthen my resolve to know You more, to foster an intimate relationship that transcends the superficial. Instill in me a passion for Your Word, a yearning for prayer, and a desire to meditate on Your promises. As I draw closer to You, may my heart reflect the grace that You so willingly pour into my life.
Lord, I also dedicate my soul unto You. It is in my soul that my identity lies, and I long for it to rest secured in You. Revive my spirit, O God, and let the richness of Your joy fill my soul. Teach me what it means to surrender all aspects of my being to You completely. I pray that my desires and ambitions align with Your will, making my soul an embodiment of Your love, radiating peace and grace to others.
As I love You with all my strength, I ask for the fortitude to serve and honor You through my actions. Lord, guide my hands and my feet as I navigate through the vicissitudes of life. May every task I undertake be performed with the vigor that exceeds my own strength, invigorated by Your might. Help me take action that reflects Your heart— actions that uplift the downtrodden, extend compassion to the brokenhearted, and sow seeds of kindness in a world filled with strife.
Father, I seek to love You with all my mind. Let my thoughts be aligned with Your truth, free from the clutter of negative impulses or sinful distractions. In a society saturated with noise, grant me clarity and discernment. Fill my mind with wisdom from above, encouraging reflective thinking that honors You. I pray for strength to resist the temptations that lead my thoughts away from Your goodness. Guide my intellect to serve Your kingdom, pondering on things that are pure and lovely, that I may be a vessel of Your light.
And, O Lord, teach me how to love my neighbor as myself. Show me how to see others through Your eyes of grace and compassion. Help me to reach out to those who are lost, lonely, or in need—be it through a kind word, a listening ear, or acts of service. Give me the wisdom to recognize the neighbors in my life, the ones who wish for love and connection. May my heart break for the things that break Yours; let me be a beacon of hope that spills love from my heart to theirs.
As I commit to loving You above all and loving my neighbors selflessly, I trust that my life will reflect Your glory. I pray for the grace to embody this commandment every day, diligently striving to be a light in this world. Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of being called to love. May my life be a testament to the beauty and power of Your love.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray,
Amen.
