Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with hearts open, seeking Your presence and guidance, as we reflect on the words of Leviticus 17:7. "And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations." Lord, we acknowledge that our spiritual journey is fraught with temptations and distractions. We confess the times we have turned our backs on pure worship, chasing after false idols and empty promises that this world offers, which can only lead us away from You.

Father, we recognize that You are a holy God, deserving of our utmost devotion and reverence. Your intention in establishing the decree in Leviticus was not merely for the people of Israel but is a timeless truth for all generations that follow. Help us to grasp the gravity of this verse and the seriousness of turning our worship towards anything other than You.

In our lives today, we are bombarded with competing priorities, with the allure of materialism, technology, and cultural norms that can seduce our hearts away from true devotion. We repent of the days we have sacrificed our time, energy, and devotion to activities that pull us into the realms of darkness, engaging with spirits that lead us astray. Forgive us, Lord, for the moments we have neglected to invest in our relationship with You – moments wasted on distractions that do not fulfill or satisfy our souls.

Lord, may we not go a-whoring after the empty idols that offer false satisfaction. Just like the Israelites, we acknowledge the tendencies in our hearts to wander and to seek fulfillment outside of Your will. We repent for any sacrifices we may have made to the devils of this world. May it be a reminder for us all that every time we stray from our purpose, we hurt our relationship with You and potentially lead others astray.

As we draw near to You, we ask that You fill us with a steadfast spirit, a heart that yearns only for worship in spirit and truth. Give us the courage to stand firm in our faith, to proclaim Your name boldly in a world that often dismisses Your power and love. May we be diligent in our efforts to turn our focus back to You, lifting our eyes from the distractions around us to seek the face of our Savior.

Lord, we pray for a revitalization of true worship within our hearts and our homes. Inspire in us a desire to seek after Your heart, to study Your Word, and to worship You in every area of our lives. May our sacrifices be those that are acceptable in Your sight, coming from a heart that is wholly devoted to You. We pray that our lives reflect our commitment and loyalty, declaring that we will no longer offer anything to the devils that entice us.

God, grant us the wisdom to discern truth from deception. Equip us to foster a community that encourages purity in worship and reminds one another of our commitment to You. Let our bonds reflect a covenant not only with You but also with each other as we walk together on this journey of faith. Help us hold one another accountable, supporting each other in our quest to serve You faithfully throughout our generations.

Finally, we ask for Your strength to uphold the statute You have set forth in Leviticus. Set within us a passion for purity in worship, an unyielding commitment that echoes through our families and the community. We surrender all that we are to You, trusting in Your goodness and grace to guide us in true worship. May our lives be living sacrifices—holy and acceptable—to You.
