A Prayer for Divine Guidance and Prosperity
"And they said unto him, Ask counsel, we pray thee, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous." - Judges 18:5

Dear Heavenly Father,
In this sacred moment, we come before You with humble hearts, recognizing the significance of seeking divine counsel in our lives. We reflect on the words of Judges 18:5, which remind us, "And they said unto him, Ask counsel, we pray thee, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.” We acknowledge that our journeys are best navigated with Your guidance, and we yearn to walk in the path of righteousness, aligned with Your will.
Lord, we are living in times of uncertainty and confusion. Many of us are faced with decisions that carry great weight and potential consequences. We seek Your wisdom above all human understanding. Just as the people spoke to their messenger about seeking Your divine counsel, we too understand the critical importance of approaching You with our questions and uncertainties. We ask, dear Lord, that You open our hearts and minds to receive Your guidance, so that we do not lean on our own understanding, but rather acknowledge You in all our ways, trusting You to direct our paths as promised in Proverbs 3:5-6.
Almighty God, we offer to You our plans and desires. We desire prosperity in our endeavors, not just in material wealth, but in spiritual growth, in the fruits of the Spirit, and in meaningful relationships with others. We long for our lives to reflect Your goodness and grace. Help us to discern what true prosperity means in Your eyes. May we cultivate a spirit that values Your presence and Your ways above all else.
As we seek Your counsel, we beg for clarity. We ask that You remove the distractions and noise that cloud our judgment. When faced with options, help us to see which aligns with Your purpose and glorifies Your name. Surround us with wise counsel from others who share our faith, for Your Word tells us that in the multitude of counselors, there is safety (Proverbs 11:14). Give us the wisdom to discern godly advice and the strength to follow through with it.
Heavenly Father, in our quest for prosperity and success, let us not forget the importance of integrity and righteous living. We pray that as we seek prosperity in our lives, we do so with a heart that critiques our motives. Teach us, O Lord, to align our desires with Your will and to constantly ask ourselves if our actions reflect Your love and justice. Help us to carry Your light into the world, inspiring others to seek Your counsel as well.
We ask that You bless our efforts and take our dreams, refining them in accordance with Your divine plan. May we have faith in the journey, trusting that You are working all things together for our good, even when the way seems difficult or unclear. When we face trials, let us be reminded that they are part of Your training process, molding us into vessels of honor fit for Your service.
Finally, we pray for Your continued presence in our lives as we seek the counsel that only You can provide. Help us to be steadfast in prayer, remaining attentive to the promptings of Your Spirit. May we constantly bring our questions before You, understanding that You are eager to guide us. Help us to remember that prosperity is not solely found in our achievements, but in a deep and abiding relationship with You.
Thank you for the assurance that when we seek You wholeheartedly, we shall find You (Jeremiah 29:13). We bless Your holy name, trusting in Your goodness, wisdom, and love.
In Jesus’ Name, we pray,
Amen.
