Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, hearts humbled and spirits lifted, acknowledging the profound truth found in the scripture of John 19:37, which proclaims, "And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced." Lord, we praise You for the revelation of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who was pierced for our transgressions, and whose suffering grants us access to the depths of Your love and grace.

As we meditate upon this powerful verse, we recognize that through His wounds, we find salvation and healing. We thank You for the sacrificial love displayed on the Cross, where the blood of the Lamb was shed. With deep reverence, we consider the gravity of that moment when the spear pierced His side, releasing blood and water—a profound symbol of both His suffering and the new covenant established in His name. Help us, Lord, to truly understand the impact of this event on our lives, and the incredible price paid for our redemption.

Father, we pray that as we look upon Him whom they pierced, our hearts would be softened and our spirits would be renewed. Grant us the ability to see beyond the physical wounds and to recognize the depth of love that drove Him to the Cross. May we never take lightly the pain He bore for us, nor the weight of the sin that He carried. As we fix our eyes on Him, may we be reminded that it is through His sacrifice that we are reconciled to You, and that through His resurrection, we are offered eternal life.

Lord Jesus, we acknowledge You as the Lamb who was led to the slaughter. In the face of betrayal, mockery, and unimaginable pain, You remained steadfast and forgave those who thrust the spear into Your side. Help us to emulate Your love and forgiveness in our own lives. Teach us to forgive those who have wronged us, as You forgave from the Cross—"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." May this principle of forgiveness penetrate our hearts and teach us to love unconditionally, just as You have loved us.

As we gaze upon You in our prayers and quiet moments, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to us more fully. Let us experience the profound mercy that flows from Your wounds, and may our hearts be filled with gratitude. May the sight of the pierced One kindle a passion within us to share the good news of Your salvation, so that others may also look upon You and find hope.

Holy Spirit, breathe life into our understanding—help us to comprehend the magnitude of Christ's suffering and its significance in our relationship with You, Father. Empower us to live in light of the cross, fully aware of what has been accomplished on our behalf. Let our lives be a reflection of Your love, attracting others to seek the One who was pierced and find the fullness of their purpose in You.

We pray for those who do not know the pierced Christ. Open their eyes, Lord. Let them see the enormity of what You have done for them. May their hearts be stirred to seek You and find the peace that flows from forgiveness and acceptance through Jesus Christ.

Finally, Lord, we thank You for the promise that one day, every eye will look upon You, the pierced Lamb of God. We anticipate that glorious moment when we will join with the angels in heaven, proclaiming Your worthiness for all eternity. Until that day comes, may we live as ambassadors of Your love, sharing the message of the Cross and its power to redeem.
