A Prayer for Divine Guidance and Wisdom
"Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?" - Job 39:26

Heavenly Father,
We come before Your sovereign throne today, recognizing Your infinite wisdom and unending grace. As we reflect upon the words of Job 39:26, where it is written, "Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?" we are reminded of the majesty of Your creation and the intricate design of the world around us. Lord, You have created the hawk, an incredible creature that soars high above the mountains, guided by instincts imbued with Your wisdom. Just as the hawk navigates through the skies seeking its purpose and provision, we long to seek and follow Your guidance in every aspect of our lives.
O Lord, we acknowledge that our understanding is limited and that we often find ourselves struggling to discern the path You have laid out before us. Just as the hawk relies on the invisible currents of the air to elevate and direct her flight, we believe that we too can find direction by surrendering ourselves to Your divine will. Teach us, O Wise Creator, to trust in Your plan and lean into the guidance that only You can provide. Help us to understand that just as the hawk instinctually knows which way to fly, we, too, are called to follow the promptings of Your Holy Spirit.
We pray for wisdom today, Heavenly Father. Your Word tells us in Proverbs 2:6 that "For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." Lord, we seek this precious gift of wisdom, that we may be able to navigate through life's complexities with grace and assurance. We ask that You grant us clarity of thought in our decision-making,
so that we may respond to life’s challenges with courage and faith. Just as the hawk is aware of the changing seasons and adjusts her course accordingly, we ask You to help us be sensitive to the leading of Your Spirit as we make choices in our lives.
Please remind us, Lord, that even when it seems like the winds of change are against us, we can still soar. Empower us with the strength and determination of the hawk, giving us the wisdom to recognize our circumstances and the grace to adapt. May we embrace uncertainty with the assurance that You are our guide, illuminating our path with Your presence. Help us to stretch our wings, trusting in Your provisions as we take steps toward our purpose, knowing You are with us in every trial.
Father, give us discernment in our relationships and dealings with others. Help us to approach all interactions with love, allowing Your wisdom to guide our words and actions. May we be agents of peace and understanding in our communities, mirroring the strength and grace of the hawk flying high and unafraid. Let our lives be reflections of Your love, drawing others closer to You as we navigate our daily lives.
We ask that You fill our hearts with hope and assurance that just as the hawk flies south, we too have our destinations ordained by You. Give us patience and the ability to wait on Your timing. Teach us to look up to the heavens, to remain steadfast in our faith, and to trust in Your discernible movements in our lives.
In closing, Lord, we thank You for the beauty of creation, especially the lessons we learn from the hawk. May we continue to seek Your wisdom and direction daily, flying boldly in the light of Your love and guidance. We commit our hearts and our plans to You, trusting that You are faithful to direct our steps. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
