O Lord, our God, as we come before You in humility and reverence, we reflect upon the profound truth spoken through Your prophet Jeremiah in chapter 2, verse 8: 'The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.' This scripture speaks volumes about a time when Your people wandered from You, and we seek to understand its implications for our lives today.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge the plight of the spiritual leaders who have drifted away from knowing You, who have failed to proclaim Your presence among us, and who have sought after worldly things rather than steadfastly guiding their flocks in Your truth. Lord, we cry out for Your mercy upon those who have been called to shepherd Your people yet have neglected their own relationship with You. May they awaken to the reality of their calling, realizing that they not only speak on Your behalf but are also responsible for drawing others closer to You.

Lord, in our churches and communities, we often see leaders distracted by the allure of success, popularity, and influence. We beseech You to restore within them a fervent desire to seek You earnestly, asking the crucial question, 'Where is the LORD?' Let this question resonate in their hearts as they lead, reminding them that without You, their efforts are in vain.

We repent, O God, for the moments we have, like the priests, turned our attention from You and have sought our own interests over Your kingdom's. We have pursued paths that offer no lasting benefits, as the prophet Jeremiah lamented. We ask for forgiveness for allowing distractions to draw us away from the sacred scriptures and the intention of living according to Your law. Help us to remember that knowing You is of utmost importance.

Abba Father, just as the priests and pastors in Jeremiah’s time fell into transgression, we, too, can be led astray by the voices around us—by modern-day 'Baal' that seeks to consume our focus and loyalty. We lament the times we have listened to false promises of prosperity, fame, and satisfaction instead of seeking to fulfill Your divine purpose. We seek Your strength to resist the temptations that lead us away from true profit found only in You.

As we intercede for our leaders, we implore You to ignite a revival among them—transform their hearts and renew their minds, that they may once again preach the unadulterated truth of Your Word. May their souls be burdened and their spirits quickened to seek after things that are in line with Your will rather than society's fleeting desires. Raise up leaders who are unwavering in their faith, who will boldly proclaim, 'Where is the LORD?' and guide others to the source of life, love, and truth.

Lord, as we examine our own lives, may we reflect on our personal engagement with You. Have we, too, neglected to listen to Your voice? Have we wandered from our first love? Forgive us for the times we prioritized our schedules, our ambitions, and other distractions over our relationship with You. We ask that You rekindle the passion within us to know You deeply and sincerely.

Empower us to be agents of change within our communities, urging others to seek You with sincere hearts. May our lives and words reflect a firm confidence in Your goodness and mercy, demonstrating that walking with You brings true profit. As hearts cry out across our land, may there be a resounding call to return to the Lord, drawing Your people back to the wellspring of life.

In these troubling times, we place our trust in You. You alone are our hope and our strength. We long for the day when Your people, leaders included, will once again seek You earnestly and declare, 'The Lord is here!' We pray these things in the matchless name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.
