A Prayer of Justice and Deliverance in Troubling Times
"Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger." - Jeremiah 18:23

O Gracious and Sovereign Lord,
In this moment of solemn reflection, as I bow before You, my heart weighs heavy with the burdens and injustices that surround me. I come to You with the words from Your prophet Jeremiah, echoing in my spirit, "Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger" (Jeremiah 18:23, KJV). My Lord, these words invoke a sense of urgency in my prayers, as I plead for Your righteous intervention in the face of adversity and malevolence.
You are the Keeper of all hearts, the Seer of all thoughts, and the Knower of all schemes. Nothing escapes Your all-seeing eyes. I lay bare before You all the counsel of the wicked that rises against me and those I care for—those who conspire, deceive, and plot the downfall of the innocent. Lord, You see their hearts, filled with malice and ill intent. You understand the depths of their wickedness, and I entrust these matters into Your capable hands.
O God of Justice, I implore You to rise up and act. The counsel of the wicked seems overwhelming at times. Their plots seem meticulous, and their strategies well-laid. But I find comfort in knowing that Your plans far supersede any earthly counsel. You see the grand tapestry of life, while they craft their small, dark threads of deceit. I rest in the knowledge that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, for You have promised us victory.
LORD, I seek Your forgiveness for the burden of bitterness that sometimes threatens to take root in my heart when faced with treachery. Teach me to forgive, just as You have forgiven me. Yet, in this prayer, I echo Jeremiah's heart. There are times when justice must roll down like waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. I ask that You would not overlook their iniquities nor erase their sins from Your sight at this time, for their actions call for accountability. May they come face to face with the reality of their transgressions.
In Your righteous anger, O Lord, let them experience the consequences of their deeds. It is not vengeance I seek, but a tangible demonstration of Your divine justice. I long for them to understand that they are held accountable, that their actions do not go unnoticed. I pray for a revelation of Your truths to pierce their hearts—may they awaken to the harm they do and consider their ways before it is too late.
Heavenly Father, while I desire justice, I also yearn for mercy on their behalf. Show them the error of their ways. May Your grace transform their hearts, drawing them back to repentance. Yet, if they continue in their rebellious ways, I pray that by Your hand, they would be overthrown before You, just as Your servant prayed. I trust in Your timing and Your methods, for they are always just and right.
As I navigate through the trials set before me, remind me that I can take refuge in You. Shield me, O Lord, from the arrows of the enemy, and fortify my spirit with Your peace. Let Your light guide my steps, illuminating the path toward wisdom and understanding. Help me to remain steadfast, holding onto hope in the shadows of despair, for I know that my vindication comes from You.
In this prayer, I commit not only myself but also those around me to Your care. We choose to trust in Your sovereignty and goodness, resting in the promise that You will act justly in Your perfect time. I declare these things in the strong and mighty name of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
