A Prayer for Restoration and Remembrance
"This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood." - Jeremiah 13:25

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with humble hearts, acknowledging Your sovereignty and grace. As we reflect upon the words of Jeremiah 13:25, where it is declared, "This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood," we are reminded of the seriousness of our relationship with You. Lord, we recognize that there are times in our lives when we, too, may have forgotten You, allowing the distractions of this world to cloud our judgment and steer us away from the truth.
Father, we seek Your forgiveness for the moments when we have placed our trust in falsehoods—whether they be the lies of this world or the deceitful promises of our own understanding. We have, at times, sought comfort in the temporary and the superficial, losing sight of the eternal truth found only in You. In our search for fulfillment, we have turned to treasures that fade, to pleasures that leave us empty, forgetting that it is only in You that our hearts can find true peace. Lord, bring us back to a place where we can fully trust in Your goodness, mercy, and lovingkindness.
Help us, O Lord, to remember the great truths of Your Word—to cling to Your promises and to find our identity in You alone. We recognize how important it is to remain anchored in the truth of who You are. Let Your Spirit dwell within us, guiding our hearts back to You. May we never forget the sacrifice made for us on the cross, the overwhelming love that sought us out, and the purpose You designed for our lives. Restore our desire to seek You above all else and rekindle the flame of our faith.
As we engage with the world around us, remind us not to be swayed by the deceitful ideologies that permeate our culture. Help us to discern what is true and what is false, for Your Word declares that Your truth sets us free. Let us always strive to hold tightly to Your light, even when shadows of doubt fall upon us. Equip us with wisdom to identify the lies that lead us away from our divine calling, and give us the strength to reject them in favor of Your righteous path.
We also pray for those in our lives who may be caught in the web of falsehood, those who have forgotten You and turned their backs on Your truth. Lord, touch their hearts and draw them toward Your light. Use us as instruments of love, compassion, and testimony so that others might see Your goodness through our actions and words. Let our lives be a reflection of Your grace, leading others back to the reality of You, their loving Creator.
Heavenly Father, we are acutely aware that our choices have consequences, and we resonate with the theme of Jeremiah 13:25 that speaks of our portion being a result of forgetting You. May this remind us of the gravity of our faith journey. Teach us to seek You earnestly, to cultivate a spirit of remembrance as we navigate our daily lives. Guide our hearts in prayer, in worship, and through the reading of Your Scriptures so we may know You more deeply and trust You wholly.
As we close this prayer, we express our gratitude for Your never-failing presence and love. We trust in Your promise to always be with us, to guide us back whenever we stray. May we never lose sight of You, our eternal truth, and may our hearts forever proclaim, "My trust is in the Lord, my God and Savior."
In Jesus’ name, we pray,
Amen.
