Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You humbled and in awe of Your infinite wisdom and mercy. Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105), and today we seek the guidance found in Isaiah 56:11: "Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough; and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter."

We pray for a spirit of generosity to flow through our lives, extending beyond mere compliance to a true love for our neighbors that reflects Your love for us.
Moreover, Father, we pray for the leaders we follow and look up to. In times past, we may have been tempted to place our trust in those who gather for themselves rather than for the benefit of the flock. We ask that You raise up shepherds who are rooted in integrity, wisdom, and a profound sense of responsibility. May they lead with the knowledge that they are accountable not just to us but to You, the ultimate Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep (John 10:11).
Lord, grant us discernment in recognizing leaders who are true shepherds—those who understand Your heart and genuinely care for the welfare of their flock. May we not be deceived by appearances or eloquence but seek the fruit of their lives; let it reflect You. Surround our communities with individuals who seek not their own gain but the glory of Your Kingdom.
Help us also, O God, to be shepherds in our own circles of influence. Whether we lead a family, a friend group, or a workplace, let our actions be a reflection of Your love and concern for others. Give us the strength to care for those entrusted to us, leading with kindness, compassion, and a genuine desire to see others thrive in Your grace. May we embody the Good Shepherd's qualities and shepherd with integrity, ensuring that every decision we make serves to uplift rather than diminish.
As we seek to embody Your truth, let us also remember the fruit of the Spirit—the joy, peace, and love that come from abiding in You (Galatians 5:22-23). Fill us with Your Spirit, guiding us to be leaders who cultivate understanding, generosity, and grace.
In all things, may our focus remain steadfastly on You, so we may reflect Your heart in a world that desperately needs true shepherding. We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, our Good Shepherd.
