A Prayer of Deliverance: Seeking the Heart of God
"2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, 3 And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying, 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years." - Isaiah 38:2-5

O Lord, my God, with a heart full of reverence and a spirit yearning for Your grace, I come before You today, just as King Hezekiah did so long ago. Your Word tells us in Isaiah 38:2-5 that Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall and prayed earnestly unto You. Let my spirit mirror his humility, for I know that true communication with You often requires solitude and sincerity.
O Divine Almighty, in this moment of reflection, I too turn my face toward the wall, seeking the quiet refuge of Your presence. I beseech thee, Lord, to hear my plea as I echo Hezekiah’s heartfelt cry. Remember now, O Lord, how I have walked before Thee in truth and with a perfect heart. Lord, I understand that my walk must align with Your will, just as Hezekiah sought to do.
I look back at the paths I have trodden, recalling the moments of faith and dedication, the trials I faced, and the moments where I held fast to Your promises. In my darkest hours, I strove to cling to Your truth, and in my joys, I endeavored to lift my praises unto You.
O merciful Lord, I have done that which is good in Thy sight. While I am not without my faults, I desire to honor You with my actions and my life. Help me to continually seek righteousness, as Hezekiah did, so that my life may be a testament of Your goodness.
Lord, just as Hezekiah wept sore, I too bring before You my tears of desperation. I pour out my soul before You, surrendering every care, every burden, every worry that weighs heavily upon my heart. In the stillness, I beseech You for healing—healing for myself, for my loved ones, and for our nation. I ask for mercy in the areas where I fall short, trusting in Your compassion and loving-kindness, believing that Your grace is sufficient for me.
O God of all comfort, let my tears be a reflection of my sincere devotion to You. May they carry the weight of my hopes and fears, knowing that You are attentive to the cries of Your children. Just as You told Isaiah to relay Your message to Hezekiah, I lift my head in faith, awaiting Your response. Speak to me, Lord. What is it that You desire from me in this season of supplication?
I pause in anticipation, for I believe with all my heart that You have heard my prayer and seen each tear that falls. I rest in the promise that Your ways are greater than my understanding, and I trust that You will answer in Your perfect timing. In my spirit, I embrace the promise of renewal and restoration that You offered to Hezekiah.
According to Your will, O Father, may You add years to my life, wisdom to my days, and purpose to my journey. Help me to seize each moment as a gift from You, to share Your love and grace, and to reach out to those who are hurting. Let me be a vessel of Your light, shining brightly in the darkness of this world—a reflection of the hope that comes only from You.
As I conclude this prayer, I stand firm in unshakable faith, knowing that You are a God who saves, a God who hears, and a God who answers. I thank You, Lord, for listening to my heart. Thank You for every promise, every act of love, and every chance to walk in Your presence.
In Jesus’ blessed name, I pray, Amen.
