A Prayer for Deliverance and Justice
"For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:" - Isaiah 29:20

Heavenly Father,
As I come before You today, I am filled with awe and reverence for Your infinite wisdom and power. Your Word reminds us in Isaiah 29:20, "For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off." I take refuge in this promise, knowing that You, O Lord, are a God of justice and righteousness. I seek Your face as I meditate on this verse, deeply desiring to align my heart with Your divine purposes.
Lord, I lift up to You those who are oppressed and downtrodden, those who walk in shadows cast by the terrible ones who exert their influence through deceit and wickedness. I ask that You would intervene in their lives, bringing low those who think themselves exalted. Show Yourself strong on behalf of the weak, Lord, for You have said that the last will be first and the first will be last. Let the prideful and the scorners, those who mock righteousness and scoff at Your ways, find their works brought to nothing.
Father, we live in a world where injustice often seems to prevail, where the agenda of evil appears to thrive in the dark corners of society. Yet, I remind myself of Your sovereign hand, for You see all things, and nothing escapes Your notice. You are elated by our prayers; they rise like incense before You. As I intercede for those that watch for iniquity and seek to undermine Your truth, I ask that You would cut them off from their designs and disrupt their plots.
I beseech You, Lord, to confound the plans of those who cannot fathom that justice is in Your heart. May their machinations fall apart like a house of cards in a storm, and may the people that have been suffered under their scorn sing of Your deliverance. Empower Your church, O God, to stand firm in the midst of conspiracy and degradation. Help us to be a light that pierces the darkness and to love our enemies, showing them the path of redemption even as they seek our harm.
Lord, I also pray for a heart of discernment. Grant us wisdom in understanding when scorn and iniquity emerge not only in the world around us but even within our own souls. Let us not be counted among the terrible ones or the scorners, but rather as vessels of Your peace and love. Increase our compassion for the lost and those who do evil, that we might reach out to them and pull them from the jaws of destruction. Remind us that You desire all to come unto repentance and that we are called to be instruments of Your grace.
As I reflect on the power of Your Word, I find solace in Your promise that the terrible ones are brought to nought. In a culture that honors the loudest voices and champions iniquity, help me to trust that all things will ultimately bow to Your will. Encourage my heart as I remember that even when evil appears triumphant, Your purpose cannot be thwarted. You bring justice to every situation, and no sinner will go unaccounted for in Your courts.
This day, Father, I commit myself to pray against the terrible, the scorners, and all that watch for evil. I ask for Your mercy, for You are a God of second chances, even for those who do wrong. Transform their hearts, and where they refuse to turn to You, bring their deeds to nothing through Your mighty hand.
In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray, trusting in Your faithfulness to fulfill Your promises. Amen.
