A Prayer of Gratitude for Divine Favor and Stewardship

"And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured." - Genesis 39:6

"And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured." - Genesis 39:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

We bow before Your throne, filled with gratitude and awe for the abundant blessings You have showered upon us. As we reflect on Your Word, particularly Genesis 39:6, we are reminded of the life of Joseph—a man who, despite the trials and tribulations he faced, became a vessel of Your favor and wisdom. “And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.” Lord, we thank You for this powerful testament of faithfulness and integrity.

In our own lives, we often encounter moments when we must face challenges that test our character and resolve. Like Joseph, we are called to be goodly persons and to reflect Your favor in all that we do. Help us, O Lord, to emulate Joseph's example. May we be filled with the spirit of excellence in our workplaces, in our communities, and at home. Teach us to serve with diligence, to lead with love, and to act with integrity in every situation we find ourselves in.

Father, we seek Your guidance as we embrace the responsibilities entrusted to us. Just as Potiphar recognized Joseph’s capabilities and placed all that he had into Joseph’s hands, we ask that our actions may reflect Your glory so profoundly that others would trust us with greater responsibilities. Instill in us the wisdom to manage what we have with care and to protect the sanctity of our commitments.

Lord, we humbly acknowledge that, like Potiphar, many around us may not see all that we manage and sustain, yet we know that in every moment we shine Your light and carry Your presence. Please help us to remember that every task, however small, is significant in the eyes of heaven. In the mundane, allow us to find purpose and joy, that we may recognize each moment as an opportunity to serve You and those around us.

We also pray for those situations in which we may feel overlooked or undervalued, as Joseph must have in the shadows of Potiphar’s house. In those moments of doubt, remind us that our worth is not defined by our circumstances, but by our identity as Your beloved children. May we find our strength, our confidence, and our identity firmly rooted in You.

Father God, as we acknowledge the favor that You gave Joseph, we also seek Your favor in our lives today. Help us to walk in Your grace, to seek Your wisdom, and to embody the love of Christ in the world. Let our actions speak volumes, drawing others to You, that they may see the very essence of Your goodness demonstrated through us.

We pray for those who lead us, that they may recognize the hardworking, honest individuals in their midst, who are driven by integrity and the desire to serve. May those in positions of authority see the light of Your provision in us and may they, too, be inspired to foster environments of trust and empowerment.

As we continue on our journey, may we be mindful of the example Joseph set — an enduring symbol of faithfulness amidst adversity. Let our hearts be steadfast like his, trusting in Your plan, knowing that even in our trials, You are working all things together for our good.

Finally, Lord, we ask that when we are in positions of influence, we emulate Joseph’s character, being not only goodly but well-favored, spreading kindness, mercy, and love like rays of sunlight piercing through the darkest clouds. Help us today and always to carry out the work of Your kingdom with a spirit of excellence and unwavering faith.

In Jesus’ name, we pray,

Amen.
