A Prayer for Divine Presence and Favor
"¶ But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison." - Genesis 39:21

Heavenly Father,
In the sacred stillness of this moment, I come before You, seeking Your presence, just as it is written in the holy Scriptures, "But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison" (Genesis 39:21, KJV). Lord, I stand in awe of Your faithfulness to Joseph, a man who faced trials and tribulations that would have overwhelmed many, yet found his strength and comfort in You. I pray that in my own journey, I might feel Your abiding presence, no matter the circumstances I may encounter.
Father, thank You for being a God who walks beside us in our darkest hours, who does not abandon us when we are in the dungeon of despair, just as You were with Joseph in his prison. You are the light in our darkness, the hope in our hopelessness, and the love that surrounds us even when the world seems unkind. When we face betrayal, abandonment, or punishment for things we did not do, remind us that we are never alone; You are always there, ready to show us mercy and extend Your hand of favor.
Lord, I humbly ask for Your mercy to overflow in my life. Help me to recognize Your grace at work in every trial. Whether I am in a physical prison or facing emotional or psychological confinement, I ask that You open my eyes to see Your hand working on my behalf, even when I cannot understand the why or the how. Let Your mercy flow over me like a gentle stream, healing my wounds and empowering my spirit.
I pray for favor, Lord. Bestow upon me the kind of favor that Joseph experienced—the favor that changes the hearts of those around me and fosters goodwill, understanding, and kindness. When I am met with harsh judgments or unkindness, remind me that it is Your favor that ultimately matters. Teach me to seek Your approval above all, knowing that when I am in alignment with Your will, I will find favor not only in Your eyes but also in the eyes of those You send into my life.
As Joseph was favored by the keeper of the prison, guide me to build relationships with those You place in my path. May I reflect Your love and kindness so that others see You through my actions. Help me to be a beacon of hope and encouragement to those around me, sharing the light I receive from You.
In my hardships, remind me to remain steadfast in prayer, faith, and obedience, just as Joseph did. Allow my spirit to rise above my circumstances, to trust fully in You, to remember that Your plans for me are good and that You work all things out for my benefit. When I am weary or tempted to lose heart, may the stories of Your faithfulness to Joseph inspire me and reignite my hope.
I also pray for those who are in prisons of their own—be it physical, emotional, or spiritual. May they experience Your mercy, Lord. I ask that You send Your angels to minister to their needs, just as You did for Joseph. May they feel Your presence and know that they are never forsaken. May they receive hope and courage to persevere, trusting in Your divine purpose.
Thank You, Father, for the truth of Your Word, for the assurance that You are with us in every season of life. I claim Your promise that You will be with me today and every day. May Your mercy and favor surround me as I walk in Your ways, and may my life bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus' name, I pray,
Amen.
