Heavenly Father,

I come before You today with a heart full of reverence and humility, recognizing the depth of my own name and identity in You. Just as You asked Jacob, "What is thy name?" in Genesis 32:27, I seek to understand the significance of my own name and the identity that You have given me.

Lord, Jacob’s story resonates deeply within my heart. As he wrestled with You, he confronted his own nature—his struggles, deceit, and the weight of his past. You challenged him with this profound question. What is my name? Not just a label, but a declaration of who I am and a testament to my journey. I pause to reflect on the many layers of my own identity - the triumphs and the trials, the victories and the failures, all of which shape who I am today.

Father, in this moment of prayer, I ask for clarity and revelation. Just as You brought forth a new identity for Jacob, I pray for a metamorphosis in my own life. Help me to recognize the areas in my heart where I may still cling to old habits or names that do not reflect Your light within me.

I desire to move beyond any labels that the world may have placed upon me: labels of inadequacy, fear, or failure. Show me, Lord, the truth in who I am in Your eyes; let me see through the lens of Your love. You crafted me in Your image, fearfully and wonderfully made. My name carries purpose, my life has meaning, and I pray for the courage to live out the full measure of that purpose.

As I wrestle with my identity, remind me that like Jacob, I have the potential to emerge transformed. I need Your divine strength to overcome the struggles that may pull me back into former ways. I bring before You every instance of doubt, every time I have felt unworthy. I acknowledge that I have engaged with shame, guilt, and disappointment, and at times, I have let these feelings dictate my path.

I long for a deeper encounter with You, dear Lord. I seek to wrestle with the parts of my identity that need to be exposed, healed, and restored. Show me, O God, what it means to be blessed by You. Just as You changed Jacob's name to Israel, give me a new spirit, a fresh anointing, and a heart that beats in rhythm with Your presence.

I also pray, Lord, for those who struggle with their identity. I lift up the hearts burdened by confusion and fear, those who feel lost in a world that tries to define them by worldly standards. May they find refuge in You, discovering their true identity as beloved children of the Most High God.

Remind us, Lord, that our names may be associated with our past, but they do not have to dictate our future. May every wound associated with our names be healed in the light of Your truth. Help us to walk in newness of life, embracing the identity You have prepared for us, one that brings glory to You and fulfillment to our souls.

As I draw closer to You, Lord, I pray that I may embrace the struggles that lead to growth. Teach me to wrestle not just with You, but also with my thoughts and fears, seeking Your guidance continually. In each moment of questioning, lead me back to the source of my identity - Your unfailing love and grace.

I thank You for Your faithfulness and for the promise that I am not defined by my past but by Your presence in my life. You, Lord, ask me, "What is thy name?" And with rejoicing in my heart, I proclaim that I am a child of God, redeemed and loved.
