A Prayer for Vision and Strength from Above

"And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:" - Ezekiel 17:3

"And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:" - Ezekiel 17:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with hearts full of faith and a desperate need for Your divine insight. As we reflect upon the profound words of Ezekiel 17:3, where You declared, "Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar", we find ourselves in awe of Your greatness.

Lord God, You are the Almighty, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. You possess the wisdom that transcends our understanding, and it is in this moment that we seek Your illuminated guidance. Just as the eagle soars above the mountains, may we too rise above our circumstances. May Your Spirit lift us to heights that showcase Your glory and majesty.

The imagery of the eagle, with its vast wingspan and vibrant feathers, is a powerful reminder of Your authority over all creation. We acknowledge that You choose to use the mighty eagle, strong and beautiful, to represent the protection, vision, and strength that You provide to those who trust in You. Just as the eagle flies with courage and skill, grant us the courage to face the challenges before us, to rise above adversity, and to embrace the paths we must take to fulfill Your purposes for our lives.

Lord, help us to see with the eagle’s eyes. Open our spiritual sight to perceive the opportunities and dangers that lie ahead. Teach us to soar above the lowly squabbles of life and to maintain the perspective that comes from being in Your presence. Enable us to see beyond the mundane and ordinary, and into the possibilities that Your heart dreams for us.

Father, we are aware that the cedar tree represents strength and stability, grounded in Your truth. Just as the great eagle sought the highest branch, may we aspire to rise to the heights of our potential, grounded in prayer and clothed in Your righteousness. Help us to reach for that highest branch in our personal and spiritual lives, knowing that it is only in You that we find our true fulfillment and purpose.

Grant us the wisdom to discern what branches You have placed before us that we can reach towards. Allow us to identify the ‘cedars’ in our lives – those secure principles and values that support our growth. May we not be distracted by the fleeting things of this world but remain committed to nurturing our faith and character, so we can grow strong in You.

Lord, we also recognize the beauty of the diverse colors represented in the feathers of the eagle. Let us appreciate the diversity of Your creation, recognizing that we all play a significant role in Your grand design. Help us to celebrate the differences in others, to love unconditionally, and to work in unity for Your kingdom. Remind us that together, we reflect Your glory as a tapestry of colors woven by Your divine hand.

We ask that You breathe fresh wind into our lives, reviving our energy and passion for the call You have placed upon us. May Your Spirit inspire us to take flight, to spread our wings in faith, and to be unashamed in our testimony of Your goodness. As we journey through life, may each of our steps be guided by Your hand, and may we always seek to glorify You in all we do.

In the name of Jesus, who is our strength, our vision, and our everlasting hope, we pray. Let our lives reflect the beauty and majesty of the eagle, soaring fearlessly under Your watchful eye. Amen.
