A Prayer of Protection and Divine Providence
"And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink." - Exodus 2:3

Heavenly Father,
I come before You today, humbled and grateful for Your everlasting love and mercy. As I meditate on the words of Exodus 2:3, where it is written, "And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink," I am reminded of the strength that is found in trusting You, even in the most precarious circumstances.
Lord, the story of Moses’s mother, Jochebed, resonates deeply as it reveals the heart of a parent faced with overwhelming trials. When she found herself unable to keep her child hidden, she turned to You for wisdom and guidance. Grant us the same courage when we feel our struggles have reached an insurmountable peak. Just as she constructed an ark, putting her faith in the ingenuity bestowed upon her by Your grace, help us to create sanctuaries, both physical and spiritual, for those we love.
Father, we live in a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, where threats lurk beneath the surface like the dangers of the Nile. I ask for Your divine protection over our children, our loved ones, and ourselves. May we find refuge in Your shelter, knowing that You are a fortress in times of trouble. Like that humble ark made of bulrushes, may we be surrounded by Your unwavering love, which shields us from harm. May our hearts be steadfast in knowing that You are our protector, and that with every challenge we face, You provide a way out that reflects Your glory.
Lord, as Jochebed daubed her child's ark with slime and pitch, may we seek Your help in fortifying our lives with resilience and strength. Let us not overlook the importance of what we can do, however small it may seem, to secure safety in the storm. May we remember that our best efforts, when combined with Your mighty hand, can create a stronghold that withstands the floods of adversity.
God, I pray that we do not walk in fear but with faith, recognizing that sometimes, just like Jochebed, we must place our loved ones in Your capable hands. Teach us to trust You to keep them safe, even as we are compelled to let go. You are the ultimate guardian, who knows every hair on their heads and loves them far beyond what we can imagine. Where we feel powerless, send forth Your divine guidance so that we may encourage and support one another, trusting in Your provision.
As Jochebed laid her son in the flags by the river's brink, help us to lay our worries and burdens at Your feet. You have the power to turn any situation around, to create pathways where there seem to be none. May our prayers be like the flags that rise above the waters, signaling our faith and hope in Your promises. Help us to remember that every river and every trial serves a purpose that conforms us to Your image and equips us for a greater story.
I beseech You, Lord, to fill our hearts with peace as we surrender our fears, ambitions, and the well-being of our children to Your divine plan. Let us rejoice in the knowledge that You are at work, even in the moments where we see emptiness or despair.
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for being our comforter and protector. We place our trust in You, now and always.
In Your Holy Name, we pray.
Amen.
