Heavenly Father,

We come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your guidance and understanding as we reflect upon the profound truth expressed in Ecclesiastes 5:11: "When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?" Lord, we recognize that riches and material possessions can often become sources of confusion and anxiety rather than the blessing You intended them to be.

In a world that continually urges us to chase after wealth and accumulate more, we ask for Your divine wisdom to discern what is truly valuable in our lives. Help us to realize that the increase of our goods can lead to the increase of our burdens, as more possessions often bring with them more responsibilities, concerns, and distractions. Lord, may we not fall into the trap of chasing after earthly treasures, which are fleeting and can ultimately leave us feeling empty and unfulfilled.

As we reflect on this verse, we pray for a heart that seeks Your kingdom first, rather than the accumulation of material wealth. Teach us, O God, that true prosperity lies not in what we possess, but in the quality of our relationships with You and with others. Help us to embrace the simplicity of life and to find contentment in what we have, rather than constantly yearning for more. Let us remember the magnificence of Your creation around us and find true joy in witnessing the beauty of this world, rather than merely focusing on our possessions.

We are aware that with the increase of our goods comes the risk of discontentment and greed setting in. It can be so easy, Father, to become complacent and to forget that every good and perfect gift comes from above. We ask for Your grace to remain thankful for all that You have provided, whether little or much.

Guide our hearts to prioritize relationships over possessions. Give us the strength to use our resources to foster connections with our family, friends, and our community. Remind us that wealth is not for hoarding but is a tool to be used for the betterment of others. Lord, we desire to generously share what we have, just as You have generously lavished Your love upon us. Help us remember that we are stewards of what we possess, and that our ultimate goal should be to promote love, kindness, and justice in the world around us.

In our pursuit of happiness, may we not become entangled in the systems of this world that measure success by material gain. Free us from the mindset that equates possessions with worth, and help us to understand that our true worth is found in being Your children, loved and cherished by You. Teach us to value the things that truly matter—faith, love, peace, and joy.

Lord, we ask for a heart that finds fulfillment not in the sight of our riches but in the love and peace that surpasses all understanding. May our eyes be turned away from the temporary pleasures of this world and focused instead on the eternal truths of Your kingdom. Fill us with Your Spirit, that we may reflect Your generosity and grace in everything we do and say.

As we live in a world where materialism runs rampant, may we be beacons of hope and love, shining Your light brightly. Let our lives reflect a deep sense of purpose that goes beyond what can be seen with the eyes, rooted instead in a faith that is anchored in You.

We give You all the honor and glory, Lord, for the blessings we have. Help us to appreciate all that You provide while keeping our hearts aligned with Your will. In Jesus’ name, we pray,
