A Prayer for Unity and Support
"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken." - Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Heavenly Father,
As I come before You today, I reflect on the wisdom of Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, where You teach us about the strength found in companionship. "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour." Lord, I thank You for the relationships You have blessed me with — family, friends, and community. Help me to appreciate the value of working alongside others, recognizing that together we can achieve greater things, pooling our resources, talents, and efforts for a divine purpose.
Father, I ask that You guide me in my partnerships, whether they be in my personal life or in a professional setting. Teach me how to uplift those around me, encouraging them daily in their endeavors. May I strive for unity, understanding, and support in every relationship, remembering that the labor we share can multiply the blessings we receive. Let my heart be open to collaboration, and help me to recognize the unique gifts that each person brings into my life.
Your Word reminds me that "if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up." I pray, dear Lord, that I may be a source of strength for others who may stumble. Make me sensitive to the struggles that those around me face, so that I may offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or an encouraging word when they are in need.
Moreover, I beseech You to help me cultivate relationships where I can also receive support. For every moment of weakness I may experience, grant me the humility to ask for help from those You have placed in my life. May I not shy away from vulnerability but instead recognize that it is in our shared humanity that we find grace and understanding. Help me to remember that I am never truly alone when I lean on the collective strength of others, for in Your creation, we are designed to be interdependent.
As I think on Your teachings, I also reflect on the lines, "Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?" I pray for warmth in my relationships, Lord. May Your love bind us together, igniting passions and fueling encouragement amongst us. Help me to create safe and nurturing environments where those around me can feel loved and cherished. Let our gathering bring comfort, joy, and laughter, so we may thrive in both sunlight and shadow.
Father, You further remind us that "if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Lord, I ask that You forge within us a bond of three: ourselves, each other, and Your unending presence. May we build our friendships and partnerships on the foundation of Your love, infusing each connection with purpose and dedication. Let us become a testament to Your design for community, showing the world that together we are resilient and capable of withstanding life’s adversities.
Amidst challenges that arise, remind us of the power of unity. Strengthen our resolve to stand together against the trials we may face, confident that as we tread life's path hand-in-hand, we reflect Your love in action.
I thank You, Lord, for the relationships You have granted me and for the lessons I learn through sharing life with others. May I always seek to serve and support those in my life, and may our connections be infused with Your Spirit, making them stronger, warmer, and unbreakable.
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 - "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
