A Prayer of Abundance and Generosity
"At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates: And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest." - Deuteronomy 14:28-29

O Lord God, Creator of Heaven and Earth,
As I come before Thee today, I am reminded of Thy commands and the wisdom embedded within the scriptures. In Deuteronomy 14:28-29, Thou hast called upon us to bring forth our tithes, our increases, and our blessings to share within our gates. "At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates." Lord, it is astounding to think that Thy faithfulness and provision extend to us so generously that we might have the privilege to give back a portion of what Thou hast graciously bestowed upon us.
As I meditate on this verse, I ask for Thy divine wisdom and understanding. Help me, O Lord, to grasp the significance of tithing not merely as an obligation, but as an act of worship, a tangible expression of my love and gratitude for all that Thou hast done in my life. I lay before Thee the burdens and distractions that often cloud my mind, and clear my heart to recognize both the blessings I have received and the opportunities to share abundantly with others.
Thy scripture further instructs, "And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied." Help me to remember the marginalized in our communities—the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow. They are often the ones most in need, and Thy heart leans toward compassion for the downtrodden. Teach me, O Lord, to extend my hand and open my heart to those who lack. Let me not be blind to their suffering or deaf to their cries for help.
Lord, let compassion drive my actions, and generosity shape my character. May I become a vessel of Your blessings, pouring forth to others as You have poured into me. Ignite in me a spirit of stewardship, that I may be diligent in managing the resources, time, and talents Thou hast entrusted to me. Help me to understand the importance of designating a portion for the work of the church, for the care of those who serve, and for the sustenance of those whom society often overlooks.
I pray for strength to cultivate a lifestyle of giving that includes all that I am and all that I possess. Allow me to be mindful of the cycles of harvest within my life, recognizing that as I sow into the lives of others, I am participating in a divine economy that transcends human understanding. Your word reminds me that it is through giving that I receive, and in this reciprocity, there is joy and fulfillment that far exceeds earthly riches.
Lastly, dear Lord, I hold on to Thy promise: "that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest." May my acts of service and giving glorify Thy name, and may they bear fruit in the community around me. Let my endeavors be pleasing in Thy sight, and bless the work of my hands so that it may thrive.
As I seek to fulfill this command, grant me patience, persistence, and a heart that rejoices in giving. Let each sacrifice and act of kindness be an echo of Your love, pointing others toward the ultimate gift of salvation found in Jesus Christ.
In the name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen.
