A Prayer for Faith and Divine Power

"And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people." - Acts 6:8

"And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people." - Acts 6:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with hearts filled with gratitude and reverence, acknowledging Your majesty and the greatness of Your power. Today, we seek to reflect on the life of Your servant Stephen, as mentioned in Acts 6:8, where it is written, "And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people." Lord, this verse reminds us of the extraordinary possibilities that arise when we are filled with faith and empowered by Your presence.

As we gather in prayer, we ask You, Lord, to fill us with the same Holy Spirit that empowered Stephen. Just as he was recognized for his faith and the divine authority that radiated from him, we long to be vessels of Your glory and signs of Your grace in this world. We desire to embody the attributes of Stephen—his unwavering faith and his courage to perform miracles in Your name. Please help us to grow in faith, so that we may believe in the impossible and trust in Your divine providence.

Father, we recognize that without faith, it is impossible to please You (Hebrews 11:6). We pray that You would strengthen our faith, increase our capacity to trust in Your goodness and sovereignty. May we not be swayed by the challenges we face or the doubts that creep into our minds. Instead, remind us daily of your faithfulness throughout generations, and encourage us to step out in daring trust, as Stephen did.

Lord, ignite within us a burning desire to perform good works that glorify You. Help us to see past our limitations and embrace the calling of service You have placed upon our lives. As Stephen did great wonders among the people, may we also become conduits of Your miracles in our communities. Let our actions reflect Your love and compassion so that those around us can encounter Your presence through us.

We particularly pray for those who are struggling to believe in miracles due to their circumstances. Touch the hearts of those suffering from despair, health issues, or financial struggle and remind them that You are the God of the impossible. Fill them with hope and encourage them to reach out in faith, so they may see Your manifestations of love in their lives, just as Stephen did for the people of his time.

Lord, we also remember that Stephen faced great opposition and was eventually martyred for his faith. Help us to remember that being faithful to You may come with challenges and sacrifices. Grant us the strength to stand firm in our beliefs, emboldened by Your power. Let us be willing to face the ridicule and rejection that may come, knowing that our true reward lies in You. Equip us to be brave and to serve selflessly, always mindful that our lives are a reflection of Your light.

In the face of adversity, may we continue to shine brightly, demonstrating the wonders of Your love and grace. Let our lives be testimonies of Your goodness. As we seek to live out our faith, lead us to opportunities to bless others, to speak words of encouragement, and to perform acts of service that reflect Your compassion.

Lastly, Lord, we thank You for the fellowship of believers and the encouragement we find in community. May we lift one another in prayer, foster faith in each other, and carry one another’s burdens. Together may we pursue the greater works You have called us to do, empowered by Your Spirit just like Stephen.

In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
