A Prayer for Integrity and Truthfulness
"And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much." - Acts 5:8

Heavenly Father,
We come before You in humble adoration, acknowledging Your holiness and the righteousness of Your ways. You are the God of truth, who cannot lie, and we stand before You today, burdened by the weight of the world’s temptations and the call to compromise our integrity.
As we reflect on the words from Acts 5:8, where Peter asked Ananias’ wife, “Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much,” we are reminded of the grave consequences that arise from falsehood. Lord, we recognize that truth is the foundation of our relationship with You and with one another. We plead for Your forgiveness for the times we have strayed from this path of integrity. Help us to remember that even the smallest untruth can lead to larger deception and chaos.
Lord, we ask that You instill within us a spirit of truthfulness. May our hearts be filled with a desire to live authentically, in accordance with Your will. Just as Peter sought the truth from Ananias and Sapphira, may we also seek to uphold honesty in our lives, reflecting it in our words, actions, and interactions with those around us. Teach us, Father, that our integrity should shine brightly, even when it seems easier to bend the truth.
In moments of temptation, when we are faced with situations that may whisper to our hearts to lie or exaggerate, grant us the courage to stand firm in our commitment to honesty. We desire to be vessels of Your truth, not only in our dealings but also in our testimony of Your love and grace in our lives. Help us to always remember that our words carry weight and that they can build or break relationships, influence others, and ultimately affect our witness for Christ.
Lord, we ask You to expose any areas in our lives where we may be living in deception. Shine Your light into the dark corners of our hearts, and reveal any lies we may believe about ourselves, others, or our situations. Help us to confront these truths with humility, allowing Your Spirit to lead us to repentance and restoration. We do not want to be like Ananias and Sapphira, who tried to deceive not just men but the Holy Spirit. Keep us pure, O God, and guard us against hypocrisy, for we understand that we cannot hide anything from You.
May Your grace enable us to approach others with sincerity, even when the truth may be hard to bear. When we are met with situations that require us to confront difficult truths, grant us the wisdom to do so lovingly and gently, yet uncompromisingly. Let us be instruments of Your peace, speaking honesty out of love, seeking unity and reconciliation as we bear one another’s burdens.
As we commit ourselves to a life of integrity, remind us of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Let us follow His example and speak the truth in love, for we know that the truth can often lead others to freedom.
Father, as we grow in our faith, guard our hearts against the allure of material gain or worldly success at the price of our integrity. Let us learn from the story of Ananias and Sapphira and be wise in our dealings. May we always seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will provide for our needs according to Your riches in glory.
Our desire is to bring honor to Your name by living a life that is marked by truthfulness and integrity. We thank You, Lord, for Your mercies that are new every morning. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, who is our truth and our salvation.
Amen.
