A Prayer of Acknowledgment and Gratitude

"Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;" - Acts 17:25

"Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;" - Acts 17:{verse.verse_number}

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in awe of Your greatness, recognizing that You are the Almighty Creator, the one who spoke the universe into existence. You are the Lord of all, the sustainer of life, and the giver of every good gift. We embrace the truth of Acts 17:25, which says, “Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things.”

Lord, I praise You for Your self-sufficiency and eternal presence. You do not need our offerings or our sacrifices; You are complete within Yourself. You do not dwell in temples made with human hands, nor do You require our worship to affirm Your power or holiness. Instead, Your majesty stands independent and unaltered by our human interpretation and action. Forgive us, O Lord, when we have treated You as if You needed our validation or our service.

We acknowledge that You are the one who gives us life. Every breath we take is a gift from You. As we awaken each morning, let our first thoughts be of gratitude for the gift of life. Help us to recognize that each heartbeat, each moment of consciousness, is a divine blessing from Your hand. We ask for the ability to live in awareness of this truth every day, allowing it to permeate our decisions, our interactions, and our very essence.

Thank you, Lord, for the air we breathe, the food we eat, the shelter we have. You providently give us all things necessary for life and godliness. Help us to be mindful of the abundance that You have provided. Open our eyes to see the beauty in the simple things, like the warmth of the sun, the joy of laughter, and the embrace of our loved ones, as reminders of Your love and provision in our lives.

May we never lose sight of the fact that You are not defined or limited by our understanding. You are sovereign, inscrutable, and far beyond our tiny human perspectives. Your thoughts are higher than ours, and Your ways are infinitely greater than we can ever conceive. We confess that often we try to confine You within our own understanding, creating idols of our own making. Forgive us for the times when we have placed our trust in our abilities rather than in Your limitless capacity.

As we worship You, Lord, help us to worship in spirit and truth. Teach us to express our gratitude and praise not just through our hands, but through our hearts and lives. May our worship be genuine, originating from a heart overflowing with gratitude for all that You have done for us and for who You are. Let us live in such a way that reflects our acknowledgment of Your sovereignty and magnifies Your glorious presence.

In times of trouble and uncertainty, remind us that You are the giver of all things, that there is nothing we can face without Your power and provision. Instill in us a spirit of faith that recognizes Your sufficiency in every circumstance. Help us to depend on You fully, remembering that You are our provider and sustainer.

Lord, may we also extend this understanding to others. Help us to share the good news of Your love and grace with those around us, showing them that You do not require sacrifice but desire a relationship with them. Let us be vessels through which Your love and provision flow into the lives of others.

We thank You, dear Father, for the abundance of life that we experience because of You. May our days be filled with grace, our hearts with gratitude, and our lives with a purpose that glorifies You. We pray this in Jesus' name.

Amen.
