A Prayer for Boldness and Clarity in Our Mission
"Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him," - Acts 13:9

O Sovereign Lord, Creator of heaven and earth, we come before You in humility and reverence, filled with a sense of awe at Your majesty and Your power. Lord God, as we meditate on the Scripture from Acts 13:9 where it is recorded, "Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him," we are reminded of the importance of being filled with Your Spirit and the calling You place on each of our lives.
Heavenly Father, we ask that like Saul, who is also called Paul, we too may be filled with the Holy Ghost. Fill us, Lord, until we overflow with Your compassion, wisdom, and strength. Empower us to see those whom You have called us to reach and to speak boldly in Your name. Give us eyes to recognize the spiritual battles that surround us and the courage to engage in them with the full armor of God.
Almighty God, we acknowledge our weaknesses and our tendencies to shy away from proclaiming Your truth openly. Just as Saul—foreseen to be a vessel for Your kingdom—set his eyes on the sorcerer whom he confronted, prompt us to firmly set our eyes on the challenges we face in our lives. May we not falter or waver but rather approach each situation with unwavering faith and a heart full of courage.
Lord, we desire to see Your will unfolded in our lives, and we pray that we may be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Help us to distinguish Your voice from all other distractions around us. We commit ourselves to prayer and the Word, seeking guidance and wisdom from Your Scriptures. Just as Saul took bold steps towards fulfilling his call after receiving the Holy Ghost, we too seek clarity in our missions.
Let our hearts burn with passion for the Gospel, just as Paul’s did. Let us not be silent witnesses but active participants in spreading Your Good News. Instill in us a sense of urgency for the lost, the broken, and the weary. Fill us with compassion and empathy as we encounter people who do not know You. May our actions reflect the light of Christ, attracting others to seek after You.
Gracious God, we understand that being filled with the Holy Ghost also entails a call to holiness and a commitment to living according to Your will. We ask that You cleanse us from all unrighteousness and renew a right spirit within us. Strip away any pride, selfishness, or fear that would hinder us from becoming the witnesses You have called us to be.
As we set our eyes on the tasks before us, open our hearts to embrace the divine appointments You have prepared. Equip us with discernment so that we may know how to respond to each person and circumstance. Give us wisdom in our words and actions, and let our testimonies resonate with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Father, we pray for all those who are filled with the Holy Ghost and are witnessing to others. May they be strengthened in their mission. Let us come alongside them in unity and support, uplifting one another in prayer and action. Surround them with Your protection and grant them favor as they lead others to Christ.
We conclude this prayer by committing our plans, dreams, and desires to You. May our eyes remain steadfast on the mission You have set before us. Let us be willing to make sacrifices in our lives for the sake of the Gospel, as Paul did. May we, too, be filled with the Holy Spirit, ready to set our eyes upon all whom You have placed in our path to minister to and to love.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
