Heavenly Father, Creator of heaven and earth, we gather in Your presence today with hearts full of gratitude and minds eager to hear Your voice. As we reflect on the powerful message found in Acts 10:6—"He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do"—we acknowledge our need for Your divine guidance in every aspect of our lives.

Lord, just as You sent Peter to Simon the tanner, we ask that You send us to those You have prepared to assist us on our journey. You know the desires of our hearts, and You know the paths that lie ahead of us. We come before You, open to Your instruction and willing to follow where You lead. As we seek clarity in our lives, help us to find those who will guide us according to Your wisdom and will.

Father, we recognize that sometimes we get lost in confusion, uncertainty, or distraction. We may fear making the wrong choice or hesitate to act due to our doubts. Yet, Your Word reassures us that in our search for direction, we need only trust in Your plan. Just as Simon the tanner's home was a pivotal stepping stone in Peter's journey to understanding Your vision for the Gentiles, we pray that You place people in our lives who will share with us what we ought to do.

As we reflect on Simon's role as a tanner, we acknowledge that he held a position that was likely looked down upon in society. Yet, You chose him for Your purpose, showing us that our true worth is not determined by earthly standards but by Your calling. Help us to embrace those who might be considered 'less than' in the eyes of the world, for they may be the ones who hold the keys to our next steps. Open our eyes to see the beauty and worth in everyone, no matter their station in life, and give us the wisdom to seek guidance from unexpected places.

Lord, grant us the discernment we need to recognize Your voice amid the noise of this world. May we cultivate a spirit of listening, a heart that is receptive, and a mind that is aligned with Your will. Just as Peter was obedient to the call to go share the Gospel, may we also have the courage to step out in faith, trusting that You will reveal our purpose step by step.

We pray for Your Holy Spirit to fill us with understanding, leading us to individuals like Simon the tanner who can impart knowledge and wisdom into our lives. May they bring clarity to our decisions and inspire us to act boldly in fulfilling Your plans. Let us not merely seek directions for ourselves but also be willing vessels to guide others, as Simon did for Peter.

Father, as we navigate the shores of our lives, we ask for Your presence to surround us. Help us to declare boldly, as Peter did, what we learn and understand from those You send into our lives. Fill us with the passion and love to share Your word with others, recognizing that we are part of a larger picture designed by You.

In moments of stillness, remind us that we are not alone in our search for what we ought to do. You are always near, guiding us to the right path—each person You place in our lives serves a purpose. Help us to honor those connections and to recognize that sometimes our journey may depend on the willingness to knock on doors we never imagined.

We thank You, Lord, for the promise in Your Word that assures us that You have a plan for us, one of hope and a future. As Acts 10:6 shows us, Your guidance often comes through others—may we be ever watchful and receptive to Your leading.
