Heavenly Father,

As I come before You in this moment of reflection and devotion, I lift my heart and spirit in gratitude for Your truth as spoken through the sacred words of Scripture. 2 Timothy 2:11 resonates deeply within my soul: "It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him." Lord, I thank You for the profound mystery and promise encapsulated in this faithful saying.

I pause to consider what it means to have died with You, O Christ. In the depths of my being, I understand that to be dead with You is to lay down my old self, my fleshly desires, my sins that bound me and weighed me down. Lord, I confess that my old nature often cries out, wanting to be heard, but I lean into Your Spirit to remind me that I have been crucified with You. Galatians 2:20 reminds me that I am crucified with Christ: "nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

Father, I pray that You help me to die daily to my old ways. Teach me to take up my cross, just as You took up Yours, not begrudgingly, but with a heart full of love and commitment. That I may be willing to embrace the trials and tribulations that come with this path, understanding that they are shaping me into the image of Your Son. Help me, Lord, to lay aside all that holds me captive, so that I may experience the fullness of life that You promise comes through dying to self.

I reflect on the second part of this verse, the promise that resonates with hope and joy: "we shall also live with him." What an incredible assurance, dear Lord! I thank You for the gift of life, not just any life, but the abundant life that You promised us (John 10:10). You have offered me a life that is vibrant, transformative, and eternally secure.

Help me, O God, to recognize the incredible gift of living with You now and forever. May I not wait until eternity to start living in this reality, but may my life reflect this truth daily. Let me walk in the Spirit, producing fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). As I live with You, let these attributes shine forth and touch the lives of others around me, drawing them toward Your light.

As I ponder the implications of living with You, I also recognize the weight of the responsibility that comes with it. Lord, empower me to not only live for myself but to live out my faith in such a way that it brings glory to Your name. I pray for boldness to share the Gospel with those who are still dead in their sins, that they too may come to know the life that is only found in You.

Thank you for the faithful promise that my identity is found in You. I am alive in Christ—alive with a purpose, and alive with the hope of salvation. May nothing shake that assurance in my heart. Remind me in times of doubt and despair that if I remain steadfast in my commitment, I will experience eternity with You.

Lord, as I reflect on this sacred passage, I ask for a deeper understanding of how my daily life can reflect this reality of dying to self and living for You. May my actions, words, and thoughts always point back to Your goodness and grace. Thank You for this faithful saying, and may it be a reminder of the beautiful gift of life that comes through death in You.
