O Lord God Almighty, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, I come before Thee with reverence and with need, acknowledging that Thou art righteous, holy, and faithful in all Thy ways. Thou seest every burden carried in secret, every tear that falls unseen, every anxious thought that keeps the mind awake, and every wound that time has not yet healed. Thou knowest the troubled heart—those places within me that feel pressed, weary, and unresting. Yet I lift mine eyes unto Thee, for my help cometh from the Lord, and Thou alone canst give the kind of rest that reaches deeper than sleep and steadier than circumstance.

Lord, I bring to Thee all who are troubled: those troubled by grief, by injustice, by loneliness, by fear, by guilt, by temptation, by opposition, and by the heavy questions of life. Many are troubled by things they cannot control and by sorrows they did not choose. Some are troubled by memories that accuse them and by uncertainty that threatens them. Some are troubled because they seek to walk uprightly, and yet they are misunderstood, resisted, or afflicted. O God, remember Thy people in their distress, and let Thy compassion be near.

I hold fast to Thy word, and I pray it back unto Thee with faith, for it is written in the Holy Scriptures: “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,”. Blessed Lord Jesus, let this promise be living and strong within my soul. When my heart is shaken, teach me to anchor my hope not in the shifting ground of this present world, but in the surety of Thy coming revelation. Let the certainty of Thy appearing calm my fears, reorder my priorities, and strengthen my endurance. Let this word, “rest with us,” be as a gentle command and a tender invitation, calling me out of striving, out of despair, and out of the burden of carrying what only Thou canst carry.

Father, grant me grace to rest, not by denying reality, but by entrusting reality unto Thee. Teach me to rest in Thy sovereignty when I do not understand. Teach me to rest in Thy wisdom when my own plans fail. Teach me to rest in Thy love when I feel unworthy. Teach me to rest in Thy forgiveness when shame rises up to accuse. Teach me to rest in Thy strength when I feel weak. Make my heart steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, yet resting in the Lord at the same time.

Lord Jesus Christ, I look toward that day when Thou “shalt be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,”. I confess that I need that holy perspective. I need to remember that this world is not the final word, and that trouble will not have the last say. Let the promise of Thy revelation strengthen all who suffer for righteousness’ sake. Let those who are fatigued by doing good receive new courage. Let those who are tempted to retaliate, to grow bitter, or to abandon hope be kept by Thy power. Let the oppressed be comforted. Let the persecuted be upheld. Let the forgotten be remembered. And let those who feel alone hear Heaven’s assurance that their pain is seen and their faith is known.

Father, make me a companion in this promise—one who does not merely seek rest for myself, but who laboureth to bring rest to others through compassion, prayer, kindness, and truth. Help me to stand “with us” in unity with Thy people, bearing one another’s burdens, speaking words that heal rather than wound, and pointing the troubled toward the hope that cannot be taken away. Teach me to be patient with those who struggle. Teach me to be gentle with those who fall. Teach me to be steadfast in prayer for those who are overwhelmed.

O Lord, until that day when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed, keep my mind stayed upon Thee. Let Thy peace guard my heart. Let Thy Spirit strengthen my inner man. Give me faith to trust Thee in the night watch and in the morning light. And when trouble rises like a storm, let this Scripture rise higher still within me: “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,”.

I ask these things with humility and with hope, trusting not in my own merit, but in Thy mercy. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
