Like the wise women of Abel, we seek Your counsel in every matter of our lives.

Lord, in this complex world, filled with turmoil and strife, we acknowledge our need for divine wisdom. We remember the times when Your people sought guidance from You and the peace that followed their obedience. The residents of Abel knew the importance of consultation and discernment, reflecting a culture wherein wisdom was valued and decisions were shaped through careful thought and guidance. We stand at that intersection today, Lord, where our choices can lead to clarity or confusion.

Help us, O God, to embrace the practice of seeking counsel, not only from one another but primarily from You. Teach us the discipline of prayer and meditation upon Your Word, as we navigate the complexities of our existence. Illuminate our hearts with understanding and clarity, that we might discern Your voice amid the noise of the world.

As we confront challenges that seem insurmountable, remind us that we are not alone in our struggles. Instill within us the courage to bring our concerns before You, Lord, with faith that You will guide us towards resolution. Mold our hearts that we may echo the sentiments of those from ages past who inherently trusted in seeking counsel at Your feet. May we never become too proud to ask for help or too indifferent to heed the wisdom of those You place in our paths, knowing that our community and shared experiences shape us profoundly.

Father, grant us patience as we wait upon You for answers. We live in a society conditioned for immediate gratification, and in our hurriedness, we often miss opportunities to draw near to You. Teach us to be still, like those who sought counsel at Abel, and trust that You will clarify our paths.
