May I heed the example of Shimei, recognizing my shortcomings and approaching You with a heart that is eager to seek forgiveness and mercy.

Father, like David, who returned to his kingdom amidst the shouts of joy from the men of Judah, I long for the restoration that only You can provide. Help me to shed any bitterness or resentment that I have held against others who may have wronged me. Shimei, who had once cast stones and reviled David in his time of despair, demonstrated the transformative power of repentance as he hastened to meet him. May I willingly reach out to those who come humbly to me, acknowledging their mistakes, ready to forgive and restore relationships.

Transform my heart to embrace the struggles of those who run toward me seeking redemption, for I recognize that we all yearn for the arms of grace amidst our sins.
