Heavenly Father,

We lift up the powerful imagery contained in 2 Samuel 17:8, where Hushai speaks wisdom about the fierce strength and unwavering resolve of those around him—"For, said Hushai, thou knowest thy father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people."

Lord, this verse paints a vivid picture of the intensity of emotions stirring in the hearts of David and his warriors. Just as those men were stirred like a bear, Your people today are often caught in the throes of battles—against discouragement, fear, and the challenges of daily life. As we come before You, we seek Your understanding and revelation to navigate our own trials.

O God, instill in us a heart that understands the nature of a warrior’s spirit. Grant us the strength to rise as mighty men and women, filled not just with physical prowess, but with righteous determination and unyielding faith in You. In those moments of distress—when we feel as if we are robbed of our peace, like a bear robbed of her whelps—help us to turn our thoughts back to You.
