Heavenly Father,

As I ponder upon the profound words found in 2 Samuel 16:17, where Absalom, in his questioning, reveals the significance of loyalty and friendship, I am deeply moved by the lessons therein. "And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?"

Lord, I seek to understand the essence of true friendship as demonstrated by the interactions we observe in Your Word. Just as Hushai chose to align himself with David, even in times of betrayal and confusion, grant me the wisdom to recognize the friends in my life who stand steadfastly by me in trials. Help me appreciate those who, despite difficulties, remain loyal and supportive. May I be intentional in exhibiting kindness and compassion to my friends, remembering that true friendship often manifests through acts of love and faithfulness.
